The Earliest Stage of Galactic Star Formation
Using a recently developed technique to estimate gas temperatures ( T _SF ) in star-forming regions from large photometric surveys, we propose a diagram, analogous to the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram for individual stars, to probe the evolution of ...

CCD UBV and Gaia DR3 Analyses of the Open Clusters King 6 and NGC 1605
A detailed analysis of ground-based CCD UBV photometry and space-based Gaia Data Release 3 (DR3) data for the open clusters King 6 and NGC 1605 was performed.

The Sonified Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram
Understanding the physical properties of stars, and putting these properties into the context of stellar evolution, is a core challenge in astronomical research. A key visualization in studying stellar evolution is the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram (HRD), organizing data about stellar luminosity and colour into a form that is informative about stellar ...

Identification of young nearby runaway stars based on Gaia data and the lithium test†
Abstract Young nearby runaway stars are suitable to search for their place of origin and possibly associated objects, for example, neutron stars. Tetzlaff et al. (2011) selected young (≤50 Myr) runaway star candidates from Hipparcos, for which they had estimated the ages from the location in the Hertzsprung‐Russell diagram and evolutionary models. Here,

Rotation of solar‐like stars in the immediate solar neighborhood
Abstract Although photometric space‐based missions such as CoRoT or Kepler have yielded rotation measurements of many thousands of late‐type stars during the last decade, the rotational properties of the bulk of the G star population remain undetected by these missions.

Modified Least Trimmed Quantile Regression to Overcome Effects of Leverage Points
Quantile regression estimates are robust for outliers in y direction but are sensitive to leverage points. The least trimmed quantile regression (LTQReg) method is put forward to overcome the effect of leverage points. The LTQReg method trims higher residuals based on trimming percentage specified by the data.

Resonant Mode Coupling in δ Scuti Stars
Delta Scuti ( δ Sct) variables are intermediate-mass stars that lie at the intersection of the main sequence and the instability strip on the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram.

We present the lifetime star formation histories (SFHs) for six ultrafaint dwarf (UFD; M _V > − 7.0, $4.9\lt {\mathrm{log}}_{10}({M}_{* }(z=0)/{M}_{\odot })\lt 5.5$ ) satellite galaxies of M31 based on deep color–magnitude diagrams constructed from ...

Energetic properties of stellar pulsations across the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram
I will review types of modes which are observed in stars with different masses and on various evolutionary stages. In particular, I will focus on energetic aspects of oscillation modes, i.e., excitation, distribution of kinetic energy, mode amplitude and

On the Modeling of Algol-Type Binaries
In earlier papers, we presented a binary evolutionary code for the purpose of reproducing the orbital parameters, masses, radii, and location in the Hertzsprung Russell diagram (abbreviated as HRD) of well-observed Algol systems.
