Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg inequalities on Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces

open access: yes, 2020
We present some Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg-type inequalities on Herz-type Besov-Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, Besov-Morrey spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces.

Sensory Biology of the Franciscana (Pontoporia blainville, Pontoporiidae, Cetartiodactyla): Ontogenetic Modifications of Vibrissae and Vibrissal Crypts

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
The transition of cetaceans from a terrestrial to an aquatic environment involved a crucial sensory adaptation to environments with limited visibility. Vibrissae, important mechanoreceptors, undergo an ontogenetic transformation in odontocetes. This research describes the histomorphology of vibrissae and crypts at different developmental stages ...

Weighted Estimates for Commutators of n-Dimensional Rough Hardy Operators

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2013
We establish the weighted estimates for the commutators HΩ,b and HΩ,b∗ which are generated by the n-dimensional rough Hardy operators and central BMO functions on the weighted Lebesgue spaces, the weighted Herz spaces and the weighted Morrey-Herz spaces.

Herz-type Sobolev spaces on domains

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2022
Summary: We introduce Herz-type Sobolev spaces on domains, which unify and generalize the classical Sobolev spaces. We will give a proof of the Sobolev-type embedding for these function spaces. All these results generalize the classical results on Sobolev spaces. Some remarks on Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg inequality are given.

Food, Affluence and the Consumption Basket*

open access: yesEconomic Papers: A journal of applied economics and policy, EarlyView.
There are significant disparities across nations in incomes and spending. For example, consumers in the poorest countries spend more than half of their income on food, while in the richest, this is one‐tenth or less. We use data from the International Comparison Program for 176 countries to estimate cross‐country demand equations focusing on food and ...

A note on the boundedness of sublinear operators on grand variable Herz spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
In this paper, we introduce grand variable Herz type spaces using discrete grand spaces and prove the boundedness of sublinear operators on these spaces.

State of the spread of the exotic parasitoid wasp Leptopilina japonica tracking the route of its invasive host fly Drosophila suzukii in France

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, EarlyView.
To document the current distribution of Leptopilina japonica in France and compare its genetic background, we collected wild fleshy‐fruited plants and cultivated cherries from 11 sites across different regions. The fruits were collected from the canopy. We calculated the percentage of emerging individuals of L.

Approximation properties of simple Lie groups made discrete [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we consider the class of connected simple Lie groups equipped with the discrete topology. We show that within this class of groups the following approximation properties are equivalent: (1) the Haagerup property; (2) weak amenability; (3 ...

The Social Truth of Schopenhauer's ‘Metaphysics of Pity’: Compassion and Critical Theory

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Philosophy, EarlyView.
Abstract Taking Horkheimer and Adorno's account of pity in the Dialectic of Enlightenment as my starting point, I show that Schopenhauer's compassion‐based moral theory exemplifies key elements of this account. In particular, this moral theory will be shown to possess a social truth for Horkheimer and Adorno because it is an expression of a wrong ...
