PETIMOT: a novel framework for inferring protein motions from sparse data using SE(3)‐equivariant graph neural networks

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 82, Issue 8, Page 862-885, August 2026.
We present a new formulation for protein flexibility and learn protein motions from sparse experimental data.Proteins move and deform to ensure their biological functions. Despite significant progress in protein structure prediction, approximating conformational ensembles under physiological conditions remains a fundamental open problem.

A sequential quadratic Hamiltonian‐based estimation method for Box‐Cox transformation cure model

open access: yesStatistica Neerlandica, Volume 80, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We propose an enhanced estimation method for the Box‐Cox transformation (BCT) cure rate model parameters by introducing a generic maximum likelihood estimation algorithm, the sequential quadratic Hamiltonian (SQH) scheme, which is based on a gradient‐free approach.

Deep Energy Method for Large Deformation Analysis of Isotropic and Inhomogeneous Hyperelastic Ellipsoidal Pressurized Structures

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 14, 30 July 2026.
ABSTRACT The accurate prediction of displacement and stress fields in pressure vessels is essential for the safe and reliable design of these structures, particularly when dealing with nonlinear behavior such as that of hyperelastic functionally graded materials (FGMs).

A Hierarchical Deep Symbolic AI Method for Closed‐Form, Interpretable Constitutive Modeling

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 14, 30 July 2026.
ABSTRACT Recent advances in advanced manufacturing have enabled the development of multifunctional materials such as soft composites, whose complex nonlinear behaviors demand accurate and interpretable constitutive modeling. Traditional phenomenological formulations rely heavily on assumed functional forms and expert intuition, requiring extensive ...

A Quasicontinuum Method With Optimized Local Maximum‐Entropy Interpolation and Heaviside Enrichment for Heterogeneous Lattices

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 14, 30 July 2026.
ABSTRACTLattice systems are indispensable for modeling and analyzing physical phenomena in materials with discrete or heterogeneous micro‐ or meso‐structures. However, the computational requirements for practical engineering applications of lattice systems remain high.
