High strength and high ductility achieved in a heterogeneous lamella-structured magnesium alloy
By introducing heterogeneous lamella-structure, we obtained a superior strength-ductility synergy in Mg-alloy associated with excellent strain-hardening ability, i.e. yield strength of ∼251 MPa, tensile strength of ∼393 MPa and elongation of ∼23%.

A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Heterostructure enables new deformation mechanisms to enhance strength and work hardening
Reflection of geometrically necessary dislocations (GNDs) has been reported effective in increasing strength and ductility of dual-phase alloys. However, this mechanism is rarely observed in conventional single-phase alloys. Here we report the activation

A circular upcycling strategy transforms waste poly(ethylene terephthalate) bottles into microwave‐responsive Ni@C catalyst featuring lattice‐distorted nickel cores and defective carbon shells. These strain‐rich heterointerfaces enhance dielectric loss and promote localized microwave hotspots, accelerating peroxymonosulfate activation and polymer‐chain
