Multifunctional Phosphorus Doping: Integrating Enhanced Ionic/Electronic Transport and Interface Optimization for Silicon Oxycarbide Anodes

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 5, September 2026.
Phosphorus doping introduced additional electrons into silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) materials, facilitating fast ion/electron transport. It also induced the formation of more stable and Li‐ion conductive interfaces, contributing to the improvement of electrochemical performance.

Cryogenic strength-ductility synergy in Mg-6Gd-1Zn alloys with bimodal grain structure coupled with basal lamellar phase

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters
Achieving simultaneous strength and ductility at cryogenic temperature (CT) remains challenging for Mg alloys. An extruded Mg-6Gd-1Zn (wt.%) alloy with bimodal grain structure and basal lamellar phases exhibits anomalous strength-ductility synergy at CT.

Nickel‐Based Anode Materials in Potassium‐Ion Batteries: A Review and Perspectives

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 16, 27 August 2026.
This circular diagram illustrates nickel‐based anode materials for batteries. Its inner core lists modification strategies: nanostructure design, heterostructure construction, and compositing with carbon. Six nickel compound categories (Ni–O, Ni–S, Ni–Se, Ni–Te, Ni–N, Ni–P) sit in the middle ring, matching outer applications including portable ...

Synthesis and Isolation of Bismuth Scorpionate Complexes: Toward Bond Activation via Bismuth‐Ligand Cooperation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 29, 7 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Over the past twenty years, main group chemistry has significantly expanded its scope to include reactivities once considered the exclusive domain of transition metals. Among the emerging concepts, element‐ligand cooperation has proven to be a powerful strategy for enabling bond activation reactions but remains relatively unexplored for ...

Enhanced strength and ductility in (CoCrNi)92Mo2Al6 medium entropy alloy via dual heterogeneous structures

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters
In the present (CoCrNi)92Mo2Al6 medium entropy alloy (MEA), a dual heterogeneous structure is achieved by regulating the degree of recrystallization of the FCC matrix and σ phase precipitation through incomplete annealing.

Selective Electrochemical NOx Reduction to N2 for Sustainable Ammonia Energy Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
Selective electrochemical NOx reduction to N2 offers a promising route to mitigate combustion‐derived NOx emissions in ammonia energy systems. This Perspective links *NO‐mediated pathways, the key intermediate role of N2O, and low‐coverage limitations to the origins of limited N2 selectivity, establishing tandem catalysis and microenvironment ...

Frustrated Lewis Pairs and Metallic Ni Synergistically Enabled Low‐Temperature Hydrogenolysis of Lignin Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 46, 17 August 2026.
Nickel–aluminum composite oxide (NiAlOx‐300) derived from NiAl layered double hydroxide showed high activity for hydrogenolysis of various lignin models. Especially, hydrogenolysis of benzyl phenyl ether could be efficiently proceeded at 20°C and 1 MPa H2.
