Effect of Wavefront Distortion on the Performance of Coherent Detection Systems: Theoretical Analysis and Experimental Research

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Atmospheric turbulence causes signal beam wavefront distortion at the receiving end of a coherent detection system, which decreases the system mixing efficiency.

Signal-to-Noise Ratio in Squeezed-Light Laser Radar

open access: yes, 2009
The formalism for computing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for laser radar is reviewed and applied to the tasks of target detection, direction-finding, and phase change estimation with squeezed light.

Testosterone modulates multispectral oscillatory activity serving performance of motor sequences in typically developing youth

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 7, Page 3114-3134, 1 April 2026.
Abstract figure legend Increases in testosterone are associated with developmental changes in motor‐related neural oscillations in youth. Abstract Motor control is critical to daily functioning and undergoes significant refinement throughout youth. Although the effects of age on the underlying brain circuitry have been well characterized, fewer studies

First Principles Rovibronic Absorption Spectra of HF Molecule

open access: yesJournal of Computational Chemistry, Volume 47, Issue 6, March 5, 2026.
Hydrogen fluoride (HF) is astrophysically important, as it has been detected in sunspots, Venus, red giants, and the interstellar medium, serving as a probe of exoplanet atmospheres. This article presents an ab initio investigation of HF rovibronic spectroscopy, combining high‐level electronic‐structure data with nuclear‐motion solutions and refinement

Heterodyne Holography with full control of both signal and reference arms

open access: yes, 2015
Heterodyne holography is a variant of phase shifting holography in which reference and signal arms are controlled by acousto optic modulators. In this review paper, we will briefy describe the method and its properties, and we will illustrate its ...

Quantum theory of cross correlation heterodyne detection

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America B, 2022
Cross correlation heterodyne detectors exhibit the potential for suppression of the detection quantum noise below shot noise without use of optical squeezing for capturing weak optical signals in low frequency bands. To understand the underlying mechanism, we develop a quantum theory to describe the noise performance of cross correlation heterodyne ...

Microfiber evanescent-field photothermal gas detection using acoustic-induced mode-dependent frequency shift

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2023
In this study, we experimentally showcase the microfiber evanescent-field photothermal gas detection by exploiting all-fiber MHz-level frequency shift scheme. Based on the acousto-optic interaction effect, the low-frequency shifts of 0.9 MHz and 1.83 MHz

The Regulation of Vasomotor and Cardiorespiratory Pulsations Is Disrupted in Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma: A Case–Control fMRI Study

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 4, March 2026.
Using fast functional MRI, we assessed low‐frequency oscillations arising from cardiorespiratory pulsations and oscillatory interaction between respiratory and cardiac pulsations in primary central nervous system lymphoma. Respiratory‐related oscillations showed brain‐wide increases with a link to mortality whereas increases in cardiovascular‐related ...
