Corncob waste derived carbon with sulfonic acid group: An efficient heterogeneous catalyst for production of ethyl levulinate as biodiesel additives. [PDF]

open access: yesHeliyon
Alkyl levulinate is a biomass-based chemical compound used as a fuel additive. This research aims to produce ethyl levulinate from levulinic acid and ethanol using esterification with the assistance of a heterogeneous sulfonated carbon catalyst.

Heterogeneous electro-Fenton removal of polyacrylamide in aqueous solution over CoFe2O4 catalyst

open access: yesWater Science and Technology
Polyacrylamide (PAM) in environmental water has become a major problem in water pollution management due to its high molecular mass, high viscosity and non-absorption by soil.

Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.

Tuning the Selectivity of the CO2 Reduction Reaction by Means of Synergistic Interactions in the Cu, Ag, Ce System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multi‐metal Cu─Ce─Ag nanoparticles harness synergistic interactions to drive efficient electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction toward C2+ products at high current densities. Ag enhances CO production, Ce modulates Cu oxidation states, and together they boost *CO coverage and local pH to enhance C─C coupling, enabling record C2+ yields with suppressed ...

ECUT: Energy Conversion and Utilization Technologies program. Heterogeneous catalysis modeling program concept [PDF]

open access: yes
Insufficient theoretical definition of heterogeneous catalysts is the major difficulty confronting industrial suppliers who seek catalyst systems which are more active, selective, and stable than those currently available.

Effect of substrate and catalyst chirality on the diastereoselective epoxidation of R-(+)-limonene with manganese(III) salen complexes

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2013
The asymmetric epoxidation of R-(+)-limonene in the presence of the Jacobsen´s catalyst in its chiral and achiral either homogeneous or heterogeneous (immobilized on Al-MCM-41) forms was studied using in situ generated dimethyldioxirane as oxidizing ...
