Introduction to Semiconductor Heterostructures

We present an introduction to the physics of semiconductor nanostructures. We review the main assumptions of the \(k\cdot p\) method applied to a bulk crystal and then focus on the envelope function method to describe the electronic states of semiconductor heterostructures.
