2D Polarized Materials: Ferromagnetic, Ferrovalley, Ferroelectric Materials, and Related Heterostructures

Advanced Materials, 2020
AbstractThe emergence of 2D polarized materials, including ferromagnetic, ferrovalley, and ferroelectric materials, has demonstrated unique quantum behaviors at atomic scales. These polarization behaviors are tightly bonded to the new degrees of freedom (DOFs) for next generation information storage and processing, which have been dramatically ...

Multiferroic Heterostructures Integrating Ferroelectric and Magnetic Materials

Advanced Materials, 2015
Multiferroic heterostructures can be synthesized by integrating monolithic ferroelectric and magnetic materials, with interfacial coupling between electric polarization and magnetization, through the exchange of elastic, electric, and magnetic energy. Although the nature of the interfaces remains to be unraveled, such cross coupling can be utilized to ...

Designing the Bending Stiffness of 2D Material Heterostructures

Advanced Materials, 2021
Abstract2D monolayers represent some of the most deformable inorganic materials, with bending stiffnesses approaching those of lipid bilayers. Achieving 2D heterostructures with similar properties would enable a new class of deformable devices orders of magnitude softer than conventional thin‐film electronics.

AlxGa1-xN-Based Materials and Heterostructures

MRS Proceedings, 1996
ABSTRACTWe present the metalorganic chemical vapor deposition growth, n-type and p-type doping and characterization of AlxGa1-xN alloys on sapphire substrates. We report the fabrication of Bragg reflectors and the demonstration of two dimensional electron gas structures using AlxGa1-xN high quality films.

Semiconductor Materials and Heterostructures

2011
We give a survey of semiconductor materials suitable for preparation of semiconductor lasers. The materials are compounds of elements of the third and fifth group of the periodic table or compounds of elements of the second and the sixth group. The compounds have energy gaps corresponding to gap frequencies ranging from the infrared to the near UV.

Material and Heterostructure Interface Characterization

2020
The focus of this chapter is to characterize individual materials and the interface of graphene-\(\text {MoS}_2\) heterostructures. Various optical characterization such as Raman spectroscopy, and photoluminescence study etc. are utilized to identify layer numbers, interlayer coupling properties etc.

From two-dimensional materials to heterostructures

Progress in Surface Science, 2015
Graphene, hexagonal boron nitride, molybdenum disulphide, and layered transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) represent a class of two-dimensional (2D) atomic crystals with unique properties due to reduced dimensionality. Stacking these materials on top of each other in a controlled fashion can create heterostructures with tailored properties that ...
