Two new species of the genus Styraconyx (Tardigrada : Heterotardigrada)

Two new species : Styraconyx sardiniae and S. tyrrhenus (Tardigrada : Halechiniscidae) were found in organogenous debris and posidonian meadows samples. These samples dredged from the Orosei Gulf (Sardinia, Tyrrhenian Sea), came from depth of -20, -80 m and they were very rich in mciofauna.

Some Echiniscidae (Tardigrada: Heterotardigrada) from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada

Eight species of tardigrades in the family Echiniscidae were observed: Echiniscus horningi, Echiniscus mauccii, Echiniscus quadrispinosus, Echiniscus wendti, Hypechiniscus gladiator, Pseudechiniscus goedeni, Pseudechiniscus suillus, and Testechiniscus laterculus. Of these, six are new to British Columbia and three are new to Canada.

In the Orosei Gulf. off Sardinia (Tyrrhenian Sea) two new species of Heterotardigrada have been found : a Styraconyxinae. Paratanarctus kristenseni n. g., n. sp. and an Echiniscoididae, Echiniscoides bruni n. sp. Furthermore a population of Tholoarctus natans has been found. The presence in the latter of peduncles in all the toes suggests the necessity

First records of two Heterotardigrada (Tardigrada) species in Slovakia

Currently, ninety-five species and subspecies of Tardigrada are known in Slovakia (DEGMA et al., 2004). During sampling of moss-dwelling tardigrades in various regions of Slovakia, two additional species have been found on this territory for the first time.
