BOULE is Essential for the Dynamic Disassembly of Heat Shock Granules in Male Germ Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BOULE orchestrates stress granule disassembly in germ cells via a two‐pronged mechanism: it promotes G3BP1 ubiquitination by upregulating TRIM27, generating a signal for VCP/FAF2 recruitment, and it maintains G3BP1 and FAF2 protein levels. BOULE deficiency disrupts disassembly complex formation, leading to impaired heat shock granule clearance ...

Asymmetric Evolution of Antennal Cell Types Underlies a Derived Ammonia‐Sensing Logic for Ecological Adaptation in Bactrocera dorsalis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative antennal single‐nucleus transcriptomics reveals cell‐type‐dependent transcriptomic divergence in Bactrocera dorsalis, with similar structural cells but divergent sensory neurons. This neuronal diversification is associated with a distinct ammonia‐sensing pathway, linking female attraction to bird‐dropping‐associated cues with nutritional ...

Dependence of reversal time on different costs for heterozygous individuals.

open access: yes, 2015
Homozygous resistance cost was kept at 0.005. In 9(a) we have smaller, but non-zero heterozygous costs. Notice that reversal times are significantly smaller. In 9(b) we have null heterozygous costs. Again, there is a noticeable reduction in reversal time,

The BTB/POZ‐MATH Protein ZmBPM1 Interacts With Autophagy‐related Protein ZmATG6 and Modulates the NLR Protein Rp1‐D21‐Mediated Defense Response in Maize

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The maize BTB/POZ‐MATH (BPM) protein ZmBPM1 interacts with autophagy‐related protein ZmATG6 to relocate the NLR protein Rp1‐D21 from the nucleo‐cytoplasmic compartment into autophagosome‐like puncta, leading to autophagy‐mediated turnover and suppressing the hypersensitive response.

Enhanced PPRs in Dyt1 ΔGAG heterozygous KI mice.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) The input-output curves in Dyt1 ΔGAG heterozygous KI mice were unaffected. (B) Dyt1 ΔGAG heterozygous KI mice showed significantly enhanced PPRs at two inter-stimulus intervals (20 and 100 msec). Circles represent means ± standard errors.

SPARC Drives Podocyte Mitochondrial Damage and Ferroptosis in Diabetic Kidney Disease Following Klotho Deficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Klotho deficiency promotes podocyte mitochondrial dysfunction and ferroptosis through activation of the PKCα/CUX1/SPARC/TGFβ‐RII axis. SPARC emerges as a key mediator linking Klotho loss to podocyte injury in DKD and other kidney injury models, suggesting broader implications for CKD progression.

Quantitative analysis of trafficking defects induced by heterozygous expression of hERG voltage sensor domain variants

open access: yesChannels
Long QT Syndrome Type 2 (LQT2) is a cardiac disorder caused by Loss of Function (LOF) mutations in the KCNH2 gene that encodes the K+ channel hERG (Kv11.1). Mistrafficking of hERG LOF variants is the dominant cause of LQT2.

Investigations of the Evolved Molecular Basis for Terpenoid Biosynthesis in Marine Sponges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Confirming and extending a previous observation in another Bubarida sponge, genomic and functional analyses of A. cavernosa reveal that sponges retain the mevalonate pathway and employ single α‐domain T1TSs and UbiA‐type TSs for terpenoid biosynthesis. The absence of T1TSs clustering with other biosynthetic genes tentatively suggests, based on limited ...

Developing a strain-dependent susceptibility to hepatocellular carcinoma in a murine model based on histopathological evidence and genetic context. [PDF]

open access: yesAnimal Model Exp Med
Using F1 (C57BL/6J/Smad4+/− X CC) mice, we found that partial loss of Smad4 promotes liver carcinogenesis in a strain‐dependent manner, highlighting the importance of genetic modifiers in tumor susceptibility. The use of Collaborative Cross mice provides a valuable platform for uncovering genotype‐specific cancer susceptibilities in preclinical ...
