Associations between organochlorine pesticides and cognition in U.S. elders: National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 1999–2002

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2015
There is limited evidence about whether background exposure to organochlorine pesticides is related to impairment of cognitive function in general populations.

Lake–Groundwater Biogeochemical Interactions in a River‐Delimited System: The Groundwater and Lakes Urban Observatory (GLUO)

open access: yesInternational Review of Hydrobiology, Volume 110, Issue 2, Page 135-150, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Preservation of urban aquatic ecosystems is of primary importance for human well‐being, biodiversity protection and the future of society. Lake–groundwater–river interactions within urban floodplains harbour intrinsic fragility, yet remain largely understudied.

Global gridded emission inventories of α‐hexachlorocyclohexane [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, 2000
Emission factors of α‐hexachlorocyclohexane, the major isomer of technical hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) for spray events and tilling events, are distributed on a 1°×1° longitude and latitude grid system. Estimations of global gridded α‐HCH emissions in 1980 and 1990 due to 15 consecutive years of application of technical HCH are presented.

Serum organochlorine pesticide levels in patients with metabolic syndrome

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2013
Introduction: Organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) are endocrinal disruptors that tend to accumulate in adipose tissue and have been found to be associated with Metabolic Syndrome (MS). Aim and Objectives: 1. To measure serum OCP levels in patients of MS and

Theoretical insight on the treatment of β-hexachlorocyclohexane waste through alkaline dehydrochlorination

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The occurrence of 4.8–7.2 million tons of hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) isomers stocked in dumpsites around the world constitutes a huge environmental and economical challenge because of their toxicity and persistence.

Identifying Gene Predictors of Chemicals Linked With Breast Cancer: A Machine Learning Analysis of MCF7 Cellular Transcriptomic Screening Data

open access: yesEnvironmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, Volume 66, Issue 8, Page 425-441, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in women and has been linked to exposure to environmental chemicals. However, many chemicals have not been evaluated for relationships with this outcome. In this study, we analyzed RNA sequencing data from human breast cancer‐derived MCF7 cells exposed to hundreds of individual chemicals.

Micropollutants and Their Interactions With Relevant Environmental Viruses

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 27, Issue 10, October 2025.
Environmental micropollutants increase virus stability. ABSTRACT Emerging pollutants encompass a diverse array of chemicals classified as micropollutants, including pharmaceuticals and microplastics (MPs). Viruses are known to adsorb onto MPs, including binding to bacterial biofilms that form the plastisphere.

IoT Technology as an Effective Strategy Enhances Food Authentication for Current Fresh Fruit Supply Chain

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, Volume 2, Issue 3, Page 262-279, September 2025.
ABSTRACT With trade globalization, food fraud such as tampering, substituting, and falsifying, challenges human health and the management of food supply chain. As a food type that only processed at primary level, the authenticity of fruit supply information has become a guarantee for its edible safety.
