Crystallization of barium hexaferrite
Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1992Barium hexaferrite (BaFe12O19) is a promising candidate for high density magnetic recording media due to its superior magnetic properties. For particulate recording media, nano-sized single crystalline powders with a narrow size distribution are a primary application requirement.

Formation of barium hexaferrite
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1975Abstract The reactivity of hematite produced by pyrolysis of iron salts at various temperatures was assessed by surface area measurement, electron microscopy, crystal size and by reacting it with BaCO3 to form hexaferrite. The effect of heating rate, soaking temperature and time were studied.

Barium hexaferrite suspensions for electrophoretic deposition
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2009In this investigation we have looked at the preparation of barium hexaferrite suspensions, with the stability of the magnetic barium hexaferrite particles being increased by the addition of a surfactant, dodecylbenzylsulfonic acid (DBSA). The influence of the solubility DBSA in different solvents and its adsorption onto the surfaces of particles with ...

High coercivity Sr hexaferrites
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1991Abstract The improvement of the microstructure of Sr hexaferrites and consequently their magnetic properties were studied. The aim of the study was to attain a fine grained microstructure by using controlled grain growth. The most important part of the sintering process is the rearrangement of fine ferrite particles in the presence of the liquid ...

MMIC circulators using hexaferrites
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2001MMIC circulators operating at K/sub A/-band have been fabricated from single crystal and polycrystalline hexaferrite platelets integrated into glass-microwave integrated circuit wafers. Measurements on circulators utilizing single crystal BaFe/sub 11.1/Sc/sub 0.9/O/sub 19/ showed two-band circulation, below-FMR (at 36 GHz) and above-FMR (at 24 GHz ...

Lanthanum-substituted barium hexaferrites
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1971A study was made of the effect of lanthanum oxide on the properties of barium hexaferrites. It is shown that, by introducing small quantities of lanthanum oxide, it is possible to produce a material with (BH)max of 0.9 · 106 G-Oe, which is practically unaffected by sintering temperature.

Magnetic Behavior of Barium Hexaferrite Nanoparticles
Advanced Materials Research, 2011An analysis of the magnetic behavior of Barium Hexaferrite nanoparticles is presented in this paper. The particles’ average size is around 200 nm. The SU-8 photoresist is used as dielectric host matrix in which the particles are embedded. The volume fraction of magnetic particles reached is around 10%. Microwave characterizations show the properties of
