On the constitutive relations for anisotropic materials—Triclinic, monoclinic, rhombic, tetragonal and hexagonal crystal systems

open access: closedInternational Journal of Engineering Science, 1974
Abstract We consider constitutive relations of the form W = W( B ,…, C ) where W is a scalar polynomial function of the components of B,…,C which is invariant under the group A of transformations describing the symmetry of the material considered. We make no restrictions as to the number or kind of quantities B,…,C appearing as arguments of

On the geometrical features of molecular crystal packing in cubic, hexagonal, and trigonal systems

open access: closedКристаллография / Crystallography Reports
The geometric aspects of molecular crystal packing in cubic and hexagonal crystal systems are examined. It is shown that, during the packing of asymmetric molecules into a crystal, one of the key geometric factors influencing the prevalence of a particular symmetry group is the proportion of forbidden regions (excluded volume) within the unit cell ...

Lithium phenolates with a hexagonal-prismatic Li6O6 core isolated via a cage-shaped tripodal ligands system: crystal structures and their behavior in solution

open access: closedDalton Transactions, 2012
Stable hexanuclear lithium phenolate bearing a cage-shaped tripodal ligand was isolated, which had a hexagonal-prismatic Li(6)O(6) core at room temperature, because of the hard mobility of the ligand and its reduction of the problematic steric repulsion.

Improved design and analysis of 2D hexagonal photonic crystal structure based channel drop filter for optical communication system

open access: closed2015 Workshop on Recent Advances in Photonics (WRAP), 2015
A improved design of channel drop filter is proposed based on two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal photonic crystal ring resonators. The transmission spectra of PCRR configuration has been investigated by using the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method in a Hexagonal lattice GaAs rods photonic crystal structure.

The simulation study on a PET system composed of hexagonal prism shaped scintillation crystals

open access: closed2015 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference (NSS/MIC), 2015
The hexagonal prism shaped crystal shows potential to design a PET system for its higher ray blocking efficiency and equidistance with neighbors. This paper proposed a honeycomb PET based on hexagonal prism shaped scintillation crystals. Its performance was evaluated and compared with a traditional PET system based on rectangular prism shaped crystals ...

Crystal Structure Of Hexagonal Phases And Its Relation To Icosahedral Quasicrystalline Phase In Zn-Mg-RE (RE = Rare Earth) System

open access: closedMRS Proceedings, 1998
AbstractA relationship between hexagonal phases in the Zn-Mg-RE (RE=rare earth) system and icosahedral quasicrystalline phase is discussed. There are three hexagonal phases in the vicinity of Zn6Mg3RE1which are related with a lattice parameters by a ratio 3:5:7 but with approximately the samecparameters.

Crystal-chemical model of atomic interactions. 2. Hexagonal, trigonal and tetragonal systems

open access: closedActa Crystallographica Section B Structural Science, 1988
Le modele est base sur les concepts d'energie potentielle minimum d'un cristal et des contributions d'energie a l'energie totale du cristal, en tenant compte, non seulement de la premiere sphere de coordination, mais aussi de la seconde, troisieme...

Cationic substitutions in fluorides of hexagonal perovskite type. III. The CsNi1−xCdxF3 system: Crystal chemistry and trimeric magnetic interactions in

open access: closedMaterials Letters, 1982
In the CsNi1−xCdxF3 system a domain of 12R-structure is obtained for 0.25 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.50. Neutron diffraction experiments have been performed on the composition CsNi0.75Cd0.25F3, i.e. Cs4Ni3CdF12. An ordering has been detected between Ni2+ and Cd2+. The Ni2+ cations are located in octahedra sharing faces and forming linear trimers of composition Ni3F12. No
