Design of new UV/blue/green light emitters made of hexagonal-phase ZnMgCdOSSe mixed-crystal system fabricated on GaAs- and InP-(111) substrates

open access: closedJournal of Crystal Growth, 2000
Abstract A new candidate for long lifetime short-wavelength light emitters made of hexagonal II–VI compounds has been proposed. In this paper, the results of theoretical design of ZnMgCdOSSe-based light emitters fabricated on (1 1 1) plane of GaAs and InP substrates is presented.

Design of Channel Drop Filter using dual L defected hexagonal Photonic Crystal Ring Resonator for CWDM systems

open access: closed2016 IEEE International Conference on Engineering and Technology (ICETECH), 2016
In this paper, Channel Drop Filter (CDF) with dual L defected hexagonal Photonic Crystal Ring Resonator (PCRR) is designed for Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) systems. In the proposed structure the outer rods are arranged in hexagon and the inner rods are removed in L arrangement for introducing the defects.

Formation of intermediate micellar phase between hexagonal and discontinuous cubic liquid crystals in brine/N-acylamino acid surfactant/N-acylamino acid oil system

open access: closedJournal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2006
The phase behavior in the brine/sodium N-dodecanoyl sarcosinate (Sar)/isopropyl N-dodecanoyl sarcosinate (SLIP) system has been investigated by means of phase study, static light scattering, and small-angle X-ray scattering. The liquid crystal phases, hexagonal (H(1)) and discontinuous cubic (I(1)), melt upon the addition of NaCl, which shows the ...

Chain Mobility in Polymer Systems:  On the Borderline between Solid and Melt. 2. Crystal Size Influence in Phase Transition and Sintering of Ultrahigh Molecular Weight Polyethylene via the Mobile Hexagonal Phase

open access: closedMacromolecules, 1998
Polymorphism is a well-established phenomenon in crystalline materials and is important for pharmaceutical and polymeric materials. In our study concerning the processability of polymers, we came across an unusual observation related to polymorphism induced by pressure.

Rheological Properties of the L Phase and the Hexagonal, Lamellar, and Cubic Liquid Crystals of the CTAB/Benzyl Alcohol/Water System

open access: closedLangmuir, 1996
The rheological properties of different phases of the CTAB/benzyl alcohol/water system have been studied. The L phase, except the samples close to the hexagonal liquid crystal, is a viscous fluid with a characteristic Newtonian behavior. On the contrary, the L phase samples close to the hexagonal phase are pseudoplastic fluids built up of cylindrical ...

New Mixed Valence Compounds in the Pb–V–O System: Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Hollandite-Related Pb1.32V8.35O16.7andR-Type Hexagonal Ferrite PbV6O11

open access: closedJournal of Solid State Chemistry, 1996
Abstract Two new mixed valence vanadium oxides Pb1.32V8.35O16.7and PbV6O11have been discovered in the Pb–V–O system. Their crystal structures were determined at room temperature by single-crystal X-ray analysis. Pb1.32V8.35O16.7: monoclinic,I2/m,a= 10.108(3),b= 9.887(3),c= 2.903(1) A, γ = 90.84(2)°, andZ= 1, finalR= 0.049 for 452 independent ...

An Injectable In Situ Depot-Forming Lipidic Lyotropic Liquid Crystal System for Localized Intratumoral Drug Delivery.

Molecular Pharmaceutics, 2022
To address the need for localized chemotherapy against unresectable solid tumors, an injectable in situ depot-forming lipidic lyotropic liquid crystal system (L3CS) is explored that can provide spatiotemporal control over drug delivery.
