Electron Probe Microanalysis of Zinc-Bearing Hexagonal Ferrites

Advances in X-ray Analysis, 1965
AbstractThe electron probe is shown to be an effective tool for the analysis of the series of ferrimagnetic oxides referred to as the hexagonal ferrites. This series of compounds) containing barium, Fe3+, and a divalent metal cation, is formed by an ordered stacking of basic structural units in varying ratios.

Subsidiary resonance in planar hexagonal ferrites

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1970
Subsidiary-resonance phenomena in single-crystal Mn-ZnY have been theoretically and experimentally investigated. Using the general expression for the first-order instability, the threshold fields have been calculated for material parameters (anisotropy field, saturation magnetization) appropriate to Mn-ZnY.

Crystallography of the hexagonal ferrites.

Science (New York, N.Y.), 2010
The hexagonal ferrites form an unusual group of complex, ferrimagnetic oxides embodying some 60 known crystal structures. These include phases for which the structural unit cell is larger than that in any known inorganic materials. The various hexagonal ferrite modifications fall into two distinct structural series, each formed by the ordered ...

W-type hexagonal ferrites RxBa-xFe18O27

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1983
Abstract W-type ferrites RxW = RxBa1-xFe18O27 (R = Ce, La) wer prepared. Their magnetic properties and Mossbauer spectra were measured. It was found that the substitution of Ce or La for Ba in BaW improves partially the chemical stability of W-type ferrites.

Off resonance relaxation in hexagonal ferrites

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1986
Abstract The effective linewidth technique has been applied to study field dependent microwave losses in hexagonal ferrites for the first time. Data have been obtained on single crystal Zn2-Y and ZnTi-M as well as oriented polycrystalline NiCo-W materials.

Hexagonal Ferrites for Millimeter Wave Applications

1993
Abstract : This final report presents a review of the work accomplished on this contract. A review of the physics of hexagonal ferrite materials and the effective linewidth concept and the detailed overall research plan are contained in the original proposal document. The focus of the program was on the effective linewidth in millimeter wave materials,

Microwave properties of planar hexagonal ferrites

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1966
A large number of samples of hexagonal ferrite, with planar anisotropy incorporating various metal ions, were synthesized and tested for FMR (ferromagnetic resonance). Measurements were made at room temperature in transmission cavities at frequencies between 10 and 35 Gc/s on magnetically oriented polycrystalline compounds.
