A systematic review and meta‐analysis on urban arthropod diversity

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, Volume 18, Issue 4, Page 447-464, July 2025.
Our results evidence that urbanization is associated with a lower mean diversity of arthropods. We also detected a higher variance of arthropod diversity in urban than in rural habitats. Reported data suggest that cities hold a great potential for arthropod conservation if adequate measures are implemented. Abstract Urbanization is rapidly expanding at

First record of Exaerete lepeletieri Oliveira & Nemésio (Hymenoptera: apidae: Euglossina) in Venezuela and comments on the distribution of Eufriesea laniventris (Ducke) in the Amazon

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2011
Exaerete lepeletieri Oliveira & Nemésio (Hymenoptera: Apidae: Euglossina), a cleptoparasitic species recently described from the Brazilian Amazon, is recorded for the first time outside Brazil, through a female specimen collected in Merida Province ...

Phylogenomic insights into the relationship and the evolutionary history of planthoppers (Insecta: Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha) 基于基因组的系统发育分析为蜡蝉亚目(Fulgoromorpha)的系统发育关系及进化提供新见解

open access: yesSystematic Entomology, Volume 50, Issue 3, Page 495-518, July 2025.
Using genomic data from 285 species across 19 planthopper families, we conducted the first phylogenomic study targeting global planthoppers and inferred their phylogeny with the highest resolution so far. We proposed taxonomic changes including the establishment of a new family Borysthenidae stat. rev. and a new superfamily Meenoploidea superfam.

Protura and molecular phylogenetics: status quo of a young love

open access: yesSoil Organisms, 2011
Protura are among the latecomers to molecular phylogenetics. The first sequences were published about a decade ago; since then relatively little additional data has been collected. Nonetheless, the available molecular phylogenetic analyses have provided

The orchid-bee fauna (Hymenoptera: Apidae) of ‘RPPN Feliciano Miguel Abdala’ revisited: relevant changes in community composition

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
The orchid-bee fauna of ‘Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural Feliciano Miguel Abdala’, a 957-ha preserve of Atlantic Forest in eastern Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil, was surveyed 12 years after the first inventory in the area.

Phylogenomics reveals the timescale of diversification in Amblycera

open access: yesSystematic Entomology, Volume 50, Issue 3, Page 540-553, July 2025.
Next‐generation sequencing changes the higher taxonomy of Amblycera (Insecta: Phthiraptera). Families Trimenoponidae and Gyropidae merge into Gyropidae; Trinotonidae is a separate family; several genera are paraphyletic. The ancestral host of Amblycera was likely a bird; Amblycera switched to mammals twice.
