[Antigenic composition of adenovirus hexons].

Acta biologica et medica Germanica, 1979
Quantitative relations between the group-specific and the type-specific components of the hexons of adenovirus type 2 and 5 were studied by means of FITC-conjugated Fab-fragments of antibodies directed against type 2 and type 5 hexons. From the sedimentation constant of the complexes of hexons and Fab in the region of excess of Fab we conclude that ...

Large-Scale Purification and Crystallization of Adenovirus Hexon

2007
This chapter provides a protocol for the large-scale purification of adenovirus type 2 and 5 virions and the soluble major coat protein hexon. The purified virus particles remain intact and are suitable for vector, vaccine, or structural studies and can also be used as seed stock for further rounds of infection.

Hexonic Wave Theory

The Hexonic Wave Function Operator Framework (HWFOF) introduces a unified computational and theoretical architecture grounded in 6-fold (hexonic) symmetry, quantum operator algebra, and a novel semantic-physics correspondence.

Comparison of adenoviral hexon polypeptides (monomers) and of native hexons (trimers) by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

Acta microbiologica Hungarica, 1991
Purified hexons of 27 serotypes of human, simian, bovine and avian adenoviruses were analysed by SDS-PAGE. The apparent molecular weights of hexon polypeptides calculated by comparison with 5 non-hexon and 3 sequenced hexon polypeptide markers ranged from 98 kDa (for bovine adenovirus Ad bos7) to 118 kDa (for simian adenovirus Ad sim13; SV36).

Two- and three-dimensional hexon crystals.

Acta microbiologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae, 1979
Soluble hexon of type 1 adenovirus was highly purified with different techniques and dialysed against 0.5 M acetate buffer. With this procedure tetrahedral crystals were produced from the soluble hexon capsomers of the virus capsid. Electron microscopic observation of the crystallization process, revealed the development of dense two-dimensional ...
