Spatially resolved mapping of histones reveals selective neuronal response in Rett syndrome
Loss of Mecp2 function is associated with Rett syndrome (RTT). MeCP2 regulates chromatin, yet its influence on histone composition and dynamics is unclear. Combining MALDI‐MSI with LCM–LC–MS/MS, we mapped histone proteoforms across the dentate gyrus, cornu ammonis, and cerebellum in two mouse models of RTT.

Key Points Low‐Mg calcite RM developed for in situ microanalysis applications in palaeoclimatology (δ18O, δ13C; Mg, Sr m/m). New data for calcite CRM IAEA‐603 (δ18O, δ13C by SIMS and GS‐IRMS; Mg m/m). No detectable IMF effect of Mg on SIMS δ18O determinations for mass fractions < 3650 μg g‐1.

Key Points Measurement of 86Sr at count rates < 1500 cps can result in statistical bias. Non‐linear signals in analogue detection mode (e.g., Rb) present a challenge for accurately dating high 87Rb/86Sr mica (> 1000). Accounting for these considerations, high 87Rb/86Sr mica are dated here with accuracies of ∼ 1%.

Abstract This study provides the first petrographic, crystallographic, and chemical comparison between El Médano 300 (EM 300) and Northwest Africa 8155 (NWA 8155), two particular IAB‐ungrouped iron meteorites. Both contain exceptionally large graphite nodules and “flowers”, providing unique insights into carbon behavior in metallic melts and cooling ...

Abstract A substantial fraction of organic carbon in carbonaceous chondrites has long been described as “missing,” reflecting incomplete recovery and limited resolution of operationally defined organic components. Here, we present a quantitative reassessment of the carbon budget in the Murchison meteorite using an integrated extraction–recovery mass ...

Abstract Within the Danian Scaglia Rossa Formation appears a regionally correlatable horizon cutting across multiple sections and outcrops within the Umbria–Marche Basin of NE Italy, where it is intercalated with uniform pelagic carbonate successions. This horizon is called “ALE layer” and has tentatively been interpreted as a fine‐grained volcanic ash.

Variations in Hawaiian Plume Flux Controlled by Ancient Mantle Depletion
Mantle plumes—upwellings of buoyant rock in Earth's mantle—feed hotspot volcanoes such as Hawai‘i. The size of volcanoes along the Hawai‘i–Emperor chain, and thus the magma flux of the Hawaiian plume, has varied over the past 85 million years.

Stardust Mine: A 2024 gabbroic shergottite from Arizona, USA
Abstract This study provides an initial characterization of Stardust Mine, a fresh gabbroic enriched shergottite collected in Arizona, USA, in September 2024 and is the first Martian meteorite to be unequivocably collected on US soil. Analysis was conducted on the type specimen and finds that Stardust Mine is composed of equal proportions of pyroxene ...
