Using neural networks to estimate wave and wind parameters from an HF radar [PDF]
High-frequency (HF) radar systems are used to provide measurements of waves, winds and currents from the sea. By the Doppler Effect the radars interpret the backscattered signal from the sea surface.

Cs2SnI6: A Perovskite‐Based Electromagnetic Wave Absorbing Material
ABSTRACT Lead halide perovskites and carbon‐based materials are interesting, high‐performing electromagnetic wave absorbing materials. However, only a few studies have been carried out to examine in detail the electromagnetic wave absorption properties of these materials.

Interfacial engineering of Ti3C2TX nanosheets via Ca2+ and Cl− ion intercalation stabilized interlayer spacing within a PAM matrix. Combined with UV‐enhanced crosslinking, this approach enabled rapid gelation of an ultra‐stretchable, conductive Ti3C2TX‐PAM hydrogel.

A New Method of Wave Mapping with HF Radar
Study of wave height inversion with High-Frequency Surface Wave Radars (HFSWRs) has been going on for more than 40 years. Various wave inversion methods have been proposed, and HFSWRs have achieved great success in local wave measurements.

Ocean waves and turbulence as observed with an adaptive coherent multifrequency radar [PDF]
An adaptive coherent multifrequency radar system is developed for several applications. The velocity distribution (Doppler spectrum) and spectral intensity of 15 different irregularity scales (waves and turbulence) can be measured simultaneously ...

Abstract Many intraplate volcanic chains are explained as hotspot trails formed by plate motion over mantle plumes, yet some deviate from this model. The Rodrigues Ridge, a volcanic lineament extending eastward from the Réunion hotspot track toward the Central Indian Ridge (CIR), is one such case.

Photoplethysmography for Measuring Cognitive Load in XR Environments: A Systematic Review
ABSTRACT Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a low‐cost, low‐power biosensing technology with growing applications in education, particularly for monitoring cognitive load in eXtended Reality (XR) learning environments. Measuring cognitive load is critical for preventing overload and optimising immersive learning, yet existing approaches such as self‐reports

Nested Radar Systems for Remote Coastal Observations [PDF]
Advances in radar technology now allow the observation of sea surface features at multiple scales, from kilometers, down to metres. In the same manner that nested models are used at different resolutions, nested radars of different frequencies can be ...

A framework for modelling linear surface waves on shear currents in slowly varying waters
We present a theoretical and numerical framework -- which we dub the Direct Integration Method (DIM) -- for simple, efficient and accurate evaluation of surface wave models allowing presence of a current of arbitrary depth dependence, and where ...
