Effect of HfC Addition on Microstructure and Wear Resistance of CoCrFeNiTi Coatings Fabricated by Laser Cladding. [PDF]
HfC possesses high hardness, high melting point, and excellent thermal stability, and is regarded as an important wear-resistant reinforcing phase material. In this study, the laser cladding technique was employed to fabricate CoCrFeNiTi and CoCrFeNiTi/HfC composite coatings on the surface of Q235 substrate.

Wind tunnel ablation behaviors and synergistic effect of the Ir/HfC coating
An Ir/HfC composite anti-ablation coating was designed by combining the oxygen barrier property of Ir with the ablation resistance of HfC. The Ir/HfC coating was prepared on graphite and was subjected to an ablation test in a plasma wind tunnel.

Comparative analysis of wear resistance of thermodiffusion coatings obtained using the HFC melting method [PDF]
When using HFC welding, an important problem is the selection of a suitable surfacing material. The main criterion for this selection is the wear resistance of the resulting coating.
