Accident simulation testing in the HFR

2009 1st International Conference on Advancements in Nuclear Instrumentation, Measurement Methods and their Applications, 2009
Large numbers of fuel irradiation tests have been performed in the HFR, Petten under both normal and accident conditions. The present paper describes the accident simulation testing facilities that have been used in the past. These facilities have, amongst others, been used to perform loss of coolant accident tests and transient overpower tests.

Puumala virus in Croatia in the 2002 HFRS outbreak

Journal of Medical Virology, 2005
HFRS is an endemic disease throughout Croatia. The incidence of HFRS varies in a cyclic fashion, with peaks occurring every couple of years, coinciding with peaks in vole populations. PUUV was shown to be dominant pathogen during the last HFRS outbreak in Croatia in 2002.

Chromosome replication in an Hfr strain of Escherichia coli

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1976
Abstract The pattern of chromosome replication in an exponentially growing culture of an Hfr strain of Escherichia coli has been compared to that obtained with the same Hfr following a procedure which synchronizes rounds of DNA replication. The results indicate that there is significant replication from the integrated plasmid following the ...

Isolation and characterization of Hfr males in Citrobacter freundii

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1974
Citrobacter freundii Hfr donor strains were isolated from a C. freundii strain harbouring a temperature-sensitive factor F ts 114 lac+, by selecting for integrative suppression of the ts 114 mutation. Three Hfr strains were characterized, which transfer their chromosomes in a linear and oriented order.

Extract echo signal in HFR imaging system

Ultrasonics, 2006
Ultrasonic high frame rate (HFR) method was developed by Jianyu Lu in 1997. This method constructs images in frequency domain; the spectrum of space domain objects is calculated based on the spectrum of echo signals, and the image is obtained by using IFFT (inverse fast Fourier transform).

Selective Adsorption of Homocysteine Using an HFR‐ON LINE Technique

Artificial Organs, 2004
Abstract:  HFR‐ON LINE (double chamber HDF with reinfusion of ultrafiltrate regenerated through a charcoal‐resin cartridge) is a novel method which combines the processes of diffusion, convection, and adsorbance. We have investigated the effect of such a treatment on the homocysteine (Hcy) levels in ten patients with a mean Hcy level of 57.6 µmol/L ...

Patient Positioning at the HFR Petten

2001
The epithermal beam at the Petten BNCT facility has now been used for the treatment of 10 human patients. One consideration for the patient treatments was to develop a method to position the patients accurately and quickly in the beam according to predefined parameters.
