The B2Σ+ ← X2Σ+ Transition of HgI

Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 1993
Abstract The B 2 Σ + ← X 2 Σ + fluorescence excitation spectrum of HgI between 367 and 322 nm is presented. The radicals were produced and rotationally cooled in a corona-excited supersonic expansion. Spectral analysis of the isotopomer fine structure has shown that transitions from the lowest ground state levels excite a wide range of high ...

Coaxial HgI excimer lamps

Quantum Electronics, 2002
The emission of coaxial HgI excimer lamps pumped by a repetitively pulsed barrier discharge is experimentally studied. The stable operation of the excimer lamps was demonstrated at pump-pulse repetition rates from 0.5 to 12 kHz, and the average emission power attained of 0.6 W at 444 nm.

Potentiometric determination of the "Operational" Ksp of HgI

Journal of Chemical Education, 1971
The experiment described intends to demonstrate the possibilities that potentiometric titrations, run in the conventional way but with more careful measurements, offer for the determination of solu...

Conduction characteristics in HgI 2 devices

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
The performance of semiconductor radiation detectors is a function of electronic properties which are in turn related to crystallographic quality. In this paper we used devices from and growth regions of several different HgI2 crystals grown by the PVD method. We measured I/V characteristics of HgI2 devices over the range of +/-1000V.

Mercurophilic interactions in [HgI]− hybrid materials

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013
To study the secondary interactions in mercuric iodide based hybrid materials, a series of inorganic-organic compounds were analyzed crystallographically. It has been observed that few compounds [Hg8, Hg11 and Hg13] validate the phenomenon of mercurophilic interactions with minimum Hg…Hg distance [3.938(1), 4.012(1) and 3.649(2) A] whereas the ...

Excimer HgI* laser excited by an electric discharge

Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1980
A description is given of an HgI( laser pumped by a transverse electric discharge with additional photoionization. Lasing was observed at wavelengths of 441.4, 443, 444, and 445 nm. The energy per pulse reached 3 mJ. The time dependences of the laser radiation intensity, discharge current, and voltage across the electrodes were determined. The positive

A Practicum on Uncertainty: Creation of an HGIS Database

2017
Integrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) historical sources and geospatial technology offers a fruitful new approach to mapping, analyzing, and modeling the past. This project employs sources freely available online to create a historical geodatabase of the A Line of the Mexican National Railroad circa 1910.

Evaluation of pixellated HgI/sub 2/ detectors

IEEE Symposium Conference Record Nuclear Science 2004., 2005
Pixellated mercuric iodide (HgI2) detectors with thickness of 5 and 10 mm have been investigated using depth sensing single polarity charge sensing technique at room temperatures. By acquiring energy spectra of 137Cs as a function of the interaction depth, an insensitive region exhibiting poor spectroscopic performance was observed in the vicinity of ...

The Optical Spectrum of HgI2

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1972
The optical spectra of tetragonal HgI 2 single crystals were investigated at 4.2 K and 79 K in 2∼6 eV region of photon energy. The main part of the dichroic optical spectra is well described by the optical transition from three p -like valence bands, which are split due to spin orbit interaction and crystal field perturbation, to an s -like conduction ...
