Antigenic analysis of human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7) and HHV-6 using immune sera and monoclonal antibodies against HHV-7.

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1997
Using polyclonal and monoclonal (MAbs) antibodies to human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7), we have studied HHV-7-specific polypeptides. Human sera were obtained during the convalescent phase from patients with exanthem subitum due to HHV-7, and at least 16 HHV-7-specific polypeptides with apparent molecular masses of 26-210 kDa were immuno-precipitated.

Atypical Clinical Course of Griscelli Syndrome Type 2 With Primarily Neurologic Presentation and Adult‐Onset in a 46‐Year‐Old Male

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Griscelli Syndrome Type 2 (GS2) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by pathogenic mutations in the RAB27A gene. Typically, it is characterized by cutaneous hypopigmentation, immunodeficiency, with or without neurological abnormalities secondary to hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Without treatment, GS2 often results in fatal

Human herpesvirus-6 infection in liver transplantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Rejection and infections are the two most common complications after liver transplantation. Human herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6) belongs to the betaherpesviruses, together with its close relatives cytomegalovirus (CMV) and human herpesvirus-7 (HHV-7).

Combined effect of increasing the post‐reformer temperature and adding red mud as a secondary catalyst in the thermocatalytic reforming of digestate

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract This work studies the combined effect of increasing the post‐reformer temperature and introducing red mud as a support catalyst in the thermocatalytic reforming (TCR®) of digestate. The TCR® method, developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT (abbreviated as Fraunhofer UMSICHT), is an extension

Comparative field‐scale assessment of TLUD and Kon‐Tiki biochar systems: agronomic performance and net CO2e‐based techno‐economics

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Post‐harvest agricultural residues in Latin America are commonly underutilized, leading to greenhouse gas emissions and lost opportunities for bio‐based value creation. This study tests the hypothesis that decentralized, farmer‐scale pyrolysis technologies can deliver comparable agronomic benefits while exhibiting distinct techno‐economic and ...

Life cycle assessment of biodiesel synthesis from waste cooking oil using bifunctional heterogeneous catalyst

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract The development of renewable energy sources is important in order to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Waste cooking oil (WCO) is a promising feedstock for biodiesel production through transesterification. Heterogeneous bifunctional catalysts offer a sustainable alternative to conventional homogeneous bases such ...

Early diagnosis of primary human herpesvirus 6 infection in childhood: Serology, polymerase chain reaction, and virus load [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Qualitative and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) DNA in whole blood and plasma was correlated with serology and clinical assessment in 143 children hospitalized for undifferentiated febrile illness to evaluate ...
