Phase Transitions of Neural Networks

open access: yes, 1997
The cooperative behaviour of interacting neurons and synapses is studied using models and methods from statistical physics. The competition between training error and entropy may lead to discontinuous properties of the neural network.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Dynamic Analysis and DSP Implementation of Memristor Chaotic Systems with Multiple Forms of Hidden Attractors

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In this paper, a new six dimensional memristor chaotic system is designed by combining the chaotic system with a memristor. By analyzing the phase diagram of the chaotic attractors, eleven different attractors are found, including a multi-wing attractor ...

Limitations of the classical phase-locked loop analysis

open access: yes, 2015
Nonlinear analysis of the classical phase-locked loop (PLL) is a challenging task. In classical engineering literature simplified mathematical models and simulation are widely used for its study.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

On the First Hyperchaotic Hyperjerk System With No Equilibria: A Simple Circuit for Hidden Attractors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
A fourth-order hyperchaotic hyperjerk system with no equilibria has never been reported, whereas a search for its existence has been an open research problem.

Composite One- to Six-Scroll Hidden Attractors in a Memristor-Based Chaotic System and Their Circuit Implementation

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
Chaotic systems with hidden multiscroll attractors have received much attention in recent years. However, most parts of hidden multiscroll attractors previously reported were repeated by the same type of attractor, and the composite of different types of

Re‐Awakening Public Attention to the Silent Pandemic of Cancer Among Older Adults in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

The SUGRA Quintessence Model Coupled to the MSSM

open access: yes, 2006
We study the cosmological evolution of the universe when quintessence is modeled within supergravity, supersymmetry is broken in a hidden sector, and we also include observable matter in a third independent sector.
