Permanent magnets derive their extraordinary strength from deep, universal electronic‐structure principles that control magnetization, anisotropy, and intrinsic performance. This work uncovers those governing rules, examines modern modeling and AI‐driven discovery methods, identifies critical bottlenecks, and reveals electronic fingerprints shared ...

Clinical guidelines---the hidden costs
The publication of guidelines for statin treatment in the United Kingdom attracted criticism, particularly that no attempt had been made to assess the implications for resources associated with the guidelines. 1 2 The need to evaluate cost and clinical effectiveness in real terms before the widespread use of a treatment is frequently acknowledged.3 ...

Conductance‐Dependent Photoresponse in a Dynamic SrTiO3 Memristor for Biorealistic Computing
A nanoscale SrTiO3 memristor is shown to exhibit dynamic synaptic behavior through the interaction of local electrical and global optical signals. Its photoresponse depends quantitatively on the conductance state, which evolves and decays over tunable timescales, enabling ultralow‐power, biorealistic learning mechanisms for advanced in‐memory and ...

Hidden costs of ERP Implementation
It’s well known that ERP Implementation requires, above all, time and money. It can be said globally that these two elements represent a cumulative effect of many critical success factors (CSFs) of ERP implementation. Without diminishing the importance of time, the cost component of ERP implementation may be significantly increased by the hidden costs ...

The Hidden Costs of Downsizing [PDF]
We analyze whether a principal s decision to layoff an agent affects the performance of the surviving agents. To study the impact of the decision in isolation, we conducted an experimental principal-agent game.

Single‐ and Dual‐Atom Configurations in Atomically Dispersed Catalysts for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries
Single‐atom and dual‐atom‐based atomically dispersed catalysts (ADCs) effectively address the shuttle effect and sluggish redox kinetics in Li–S batteries. With nearly 100% atomic utilization and tunable coordination environments, ADCs enhance LiPSs adsorption, lower conversion barriers, and accelerate sulfur redox reactions.
