Dazu gehoren insbesondere die Algorithmen, welche die grundlegenden Probleme der HMM losen: Forward-Algorithmus, Viterbi-Algorithmus und Baum-Welch-Algorithmus. Das Trellis-Diagramm wird eingesetzt um diese Algorithmen anschaulich zu erklaren.
