Thermo‐Fluorescent Bactericidal Quantum Dots Based Smart Multifunctional Textiles via Molecular Surface Engineering and 3D‐Printed Interlocked Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A versatile approach is presented for fabricating smart multifunctional textiles by integrating thermo‐fluorescent carbon dot/polymer nanocomposite coatings with 3D‐printed interlocked architectures. The fabrics exhibit temperature‐responsive fluorescence, durable hydrophobicity, strong antibacterial and antioxidant activity, and enhanced UV protection.

Bayesian hierarchical models

2000
Publisher Summary This chapter describes the Bayesian hierarchical models. The evaluation of this study, by a Bayesian hierarchical linear model is derived from the data that include the other large clinical trials of thrombolytic therapy and suggests that treatment is also beneficial for patients, arriving much later than six hours after symptom ...

Modelling Hierarchical Destination Choice [PDF]

open access: possibleEnvironment and Planning A: Economy and Space, 1986
The production-constrained gravity formulation is shown to be an especially inaccurate specification of reality whenever the selection of destinations by individuals results from a hierarchical choice process. Hierarchical decisionmaking violates the Independence from Irrelevant Alternatives property embedded in the theoretical derivation of the ...

Hierarchical modeling of agreement

Statistics in Medicine, 2012
Kappa‐like agreement indexes are often used to assess the agreement among examiners on a categorical scale. They have the particularity of correcting the level of agreement for the effect of chance. In the present paper, we first define two agreement indexes belonging to this family in a hierarchical context.

Bayesian nonparametric hierarchical modeling

Biometrical Journal, 2009
AbstractIn biomedical research, hierarchical models are very widely used to accommodate dependence in multivariate and longitudinal data and for borrowing of information across data from different sources. A primary concern in hierarchical modeling is sensitivity to parametric assumptions, such as linearity and normality of the random effects ...
