A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Human Settlement System in Grasslands: Intrinsic Characteristics, Construction Framework, and Development Directions [PDF]
The construction of human settlements in grasslands is critical for national ecological security and the stable development of ethnic minority areas in border regions. It is necessary to build a human settlement system to address challenges regarding the

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Flow-Dependent Large-Scale Blending for Limited-Area Ensemble Data Assimilation
We propose a method of flow-dependent large-scale blending (LSB) method for limited-area model data assimilation (LAM DA). By incorporating the information from the global model (GM), LSB methods alleviate the large-scale degradation caused by ...

Hierarchical growing cell structures
We propose a hierarchical self-organizing neural network with adaptive architecture and simple topological organization. This network combines features of Fritzke's growing cell structures and traditional hierarchical clustering algorithms. The height and width of the tree structure depend on the user-specified level of error desired, and the weights ...

This study examines how helicoidal architectures with different porosities respond to bending. Adjusting layer angle and spacing in 3D‐printed polymers reveals clear tradeoffs between stiffness, strength, and energy absorption. Experiments and simulations highlight designs that distribute stress effectively, offering pathways for optimizing lightweight

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.
