B(C6F5)3‐Catalyzed Regioselective Ring Opening of Cyclic Amines with Hydrosilanes
The strong boron Lewis acid B(C6F5)3 in combination with phenylsilane enables the regioselective cleavage of one out of two or three carbon–nitrogen bonds in cyclic secondary and tertiary amines, respectively. This amine deconstruction extends to large saturated nitrogen‐containing heterocycles, and the functional‐group tolerance is good.

Lycopene protects against hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced apoptosis by preventing mitochondrial dysfunction in primary neonatal mouse cardiomyocytes [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Hypoxia/reoxygenation(H/R)-induced apoptosis of cardiomyocytes plays an important role in myocardial injury. Lycopene is a potent antioxidant carotenoid that has been shown to have protective properties on cardiovascular system.

Higenamine alleviates cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats
Cerebral ischemia reperfusion (I/R) injury is associated with a high incidence of neurological morbidity and mortality worldwide. Higenamine has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative and anti-apoptotic capacities and has been successfully used in myocardial and intestinal ischemia reperfusion. We hypothesized that higenamine might serve the same effects in
