A comparative study of Higgs boson production from vector-boson fusion

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
The data taken in Run II at the Large Hadron Collider have started to probe Higgs boson production at high transverse momentum. Future data will provide a large sample of events with boosted Higgs boson topologies, allowing for a detailed understanding ...

Higgs Boson Production and Decay in Little Higgs Models with T-parity

open access: yes, 2006
We study Higgs boson production and decay in a certain class of Little Higgs models with T-parity in which some T-parity partners of the Standard Model (SM) fermions gain their masses through Yukawa-type couplings. We find that the Higgs boson production

Search for the standard model Higgs boson in tau final states [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson using hadronically decaying tau leptons, in 1 inverse femtobarn of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron ppbar collider. We select two final states: tau plus missing transverse

Hunting for Paradoxes: A Research Strategy for Cognitive Science

open access: yesTopics in Cognitive Science, EarlyView.
Abstract How should we identify interesting topics in cognitive science? This paper suggests that one useful research strategy is to hunt for, and attempt to resolve, paradoxes: that is, apparent or real contradictions in our understanding of the mind and of thought.

Fast and interpretable support vector classification based on the truncated ANOVA decomposition

open access: yesGAMM-Mitteilungen, Volume 48, Issue 1, March 2025.
Abstract Support vector machines (SVMs) are an important tool for performing classification on scattered data, where one usually has to deal with many data points in high‐dimensional spaces. We propose solving SVMs in primal form using feature maps based on trigonometric functions or wavelets.

Next-to-Leading-Order QCD Corrections to Higgs Boson Plus Jet Production with Full Top-Quark Mass Dependence.

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2018
We present the next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to the production of a Higgs boson in association with one jet at the LHC including the full top-quark mass dependence. The mass of the bottom quark is neglected.

Where are the next Higgs bosons? [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2019
Simple symmetry arguments applied to the third generation lead to a prediction: there exist new sequential Higgs doublets with masses of order $\lesssim 5 $ TeV, with approximately universal Higgs-Yukawa coupling constants, $g\sim 1$. This is calibrated by the known Higgs boson mass, the top quark Higgs-Yukawa coupling, and the $b$-quark mass.

Higgs Boson Searches at the LHC Beyond the Standard Model

open access: yesPhysics
The latest results of Higgs boson searches beyond the Standard Model from the ATLAS and CMS experiments are reviewed. This includes searches for additional neutral, charged, and double charged Higgs-like bosons, searches for dark matter produced in ...
