The N concentration in an epitaxial VN bilayer is tailored from overstoichiometric V0.49N0.51 to understoichiometric V0.56N0.44. Based on ab initio, diffraction, and microscopy data, the overstoichiometric V0.49N0.51 layer contains V vacancies, N Frenkel pairs, and a high density of dislocations.

Photocatalytic Water Splitting on the Lunar Surface: Prospects for In Situ Resource Utilization
Water has been found in craters on the moon nearby locations which are illuminated >80% of the time. Photocatalysis uses energy from sunlight to drive chemical reactions such as water splitting to produce oxygen and hydrogen. It is a scalable technology that requires lighter equipment and utilizes resources available on the moon. ABSTRACT The discovery

A standard source for high energy neutrino astronomy [PDF]
A standard source of high energy neutrinos composed of a source of accelerated particles imbedded in a cloud of low density gas is described. The main mechanism of neutrino production in the source is pp-collision, and the main process of detection is ...

Neutrino physics and astrophysics with the MACRO detector [PDF]
After a brief presentation of the MACRO detector we discuss the data on atmospheric neutrinos and neutrino oscillations, on high energy (E> 1 GeV) neutrino astronomy, on indirect searches for WIMPs and low energy (E >7 MeV) stellar collapse neutrinos ...

MXene‐Coated 3D Printed Horn Antennas for Ku Frequency Band
An additive manufacturing approach to 3D printing horn antennas and coating them with Ti3C2Tx MXene is proposed. Rapid fabrication of lightweight, high‐performance antennas operating in the Ku‐band (12.4–18 GHz) has been demonstrated. The MXene‐coated antennas exhibit comparable electromagnetic performance to conventional, costly aluminum ones, with ...

Quantum entropy as a harbinger of factorizability
Deeply inelastic scattering (DIS) is a powerful probe for investigating the QCD structure of hadronic matter and testing the standard model (SM). DIS can be described through QCD factorization theorems which separate contributions to the scattering ...

Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays, Z-Shower and Neutrino Astronomy by Horizontal-Upward Tau Air-Showers
Ultra High Cosmic Rays (UHECR) Astronomy may be correlated to a primary parental Neutrino Astronomy: indeed any far BL Lac Jet or GRB, sources of UHECR, located at cosmic edges, may send its signal, overcoming the severe GZK cut-off, by help of UHE ZeV ...

A Dual‐Emissive DNA‐Templated Silver Nanocluster with Near‐Infrared I and II Emission
This study presents a dual‐emissive DNA‐stabilized silver nanocluster with a nanosecond‐lived NIR‐I emission band and a microsecond‐lived NIR‐II emission band. Mass spectrometry establishes that the nanocluster has molecular formula (DNA)2[Ag17]11+. DNA sequence variations reveal critical nucleobases for stabilization, and modifications at the DNA 5 ...
