Preparation and characterisation of graphitic biochar materials derived from rose oil industry waste via different pyrolysis durations and ball milling for advanced composites

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
The valorisation of waste from rose-based industrial products produces value-added substances and paves the way for advanced composites. The rose waste generated from the essential oil industry of the Taif rose ( Rosa damascena trigintipetala Dieck) is ...

Hydrogel‐Based 3D‐Printable Stretchable Pressure Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present a carbon‐black‐functionalized double‐network granular hydrogel (DNGH) pressure sensor capable of detecting pressures from 200 Pa, equivalent to a light finger touch, up to 500 kPa. The sensor exhibits signal drifts below 3.5% after 800 cycles and response times around 80 ms. Leveraging this broad sensing range, we 3D print this material into

High Energy Density of Ball-Milled Fluorinated Carbon Nanofibers as Cathode in Primary Lithium Batteries

open access: yesNanomaterials
Sub-fluorinated carbon nanofibers (F-CNFs) can be described as a non-fluorinated core surrounded by a fluorocarbon lattice. The core ensures the electron flux in the cathode during the electrochemical discharge in the primary lithium battery, which ...

Additively Manufactured Porous Ceramics as Tunable Dielectrics for Passive Temperature Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Porous ceramic lattices, 3D‐printed from a multicomponent oxide ink, are integrated with LC resonators for passive wireless temperature sensing. By tuning porosity, the dielectric properties and RF response are engineered to produce distinct resonant frequency shifts with temperature. The results establish a structure‐driven approach to customizing the
