Optimal preparation of high-entropy boride-silicon carbide ceramics [PDF]
Abstract High-entropy boride-silicon carbide (HEB-SiC) ceramics were fabricated by using boride-based powders prepared from borothermal and boro/carbothermal reduction methods. The effects of processing routes (borothermal reduction and boro/carbothermal reduction) of HEB powders were examined.

An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

Study of phase transitions and properties of tetragonal (Pb, La) (Zr, Ti)O3 ceramics—III : Transitions induced by electric fields [PDF]
The phase diagram of electrically poled, tetragonal PLZT materials has been investigated. In the higher La concentration range, a tetragonal, so-called β-phase occurs, which has no clear FE properties.

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

Enhanced co-solubilities of Ca and Si in YAG (Y3Al5O12) [PDF]
General garnet structure (Ia3-d) is a forgiving host and can accommodate cations of varying sizes and valence states. Studies on highly yttrium doped alumina ceramics with Ca and Si contamination indicated that YAG precipitates in the ceramic had a ...

In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting
