High frame rate ultrasound imaging of human carotid artery dynamics
The carotid artery (CA) is one of the main arteries of interest to cardiovascular research, because of the clinical relevance of CA plaques as culprits of stroke and the accessibility of the CA for cardiovascular health screening. Viscoelastic properties

Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

A Review of Ultrasound Imaging Methods and Techniques to Enhance Their Frame Rate [PDF]
Increasing the frame rate of ultrasound imaging while keeping image quality is important for following fast movements, especially the heart. There are different modalities for B-mode image recording, including line-by-line scanning with linear, phased ...

Advanced atherosclerotic patients are faced with significant risks of stroke, which are very likely to cause death or irreversible physical disability. However, the growth of artery stenosis usually needs a very long development.

This study identifies ARHGAP5, in addition to the frequently mutated ARHGAP35, as significantly mutated in endometrial cancer. Mutations in both genes co‐occur and are associated with their correlated downregulation. Functional CRISPR studies show that both paralogs regulate similar pathways, including actin cytoskeleton organization.

High Frame Rate X-Ray imaging with a 256x256 Pixel Single Photon Counting medipix2 detector
We report on high frame rate X-ray imaging tests with the Medipix2 single photon counting detector (single frames contain 256times256 pixel, 55 mum pitch, 13 bit counter) bump-bonded to a 300 mum thick silicon pixel detector.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
