Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.

Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Increasing the Quantity of Lungs for Transplantation Using High-Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation: A Proposal

open access: yes, 2002
The use of chest physiotherapy in donor patient management occupies an established place in most lung procurement protocols. Although its merits remain controversial and uncorroborated by direct data, some studies support the efficacy of chest ...

Reduced-order Modeling and Control Parameter Design of High-Frequency Oscillation in Low-Voltage DC System

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
The interaction between voltage-source converters, DC lines and constant power loads (CPLs) leads to high-frequency oscillation instability in low-voltage DC systems.

Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.

Optical parametric oscillators : a comparison of new materials

open access: yes, 2015
A study of new materials for optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) was carried out using an XeCI excimer laser as a pump source. The three non-linear optical materials studied were lithium borate (LBO), deuterated L-arginine phosphate (d-LAP) and β ...

Allowing for spontaneous breathing during high-frequency oscillation: the key for final success?

open access: yes, 2006
In the present issue of Critical Care, van Heerde and colleagues describe a new technical development (a flow-demand system during high-frequency oscillation) that may have an important impact on the future use of high-frequency ventilation in children ...

Engineering Pendant Group Chemistry to Control Hydrophilicity and Oxidative Degradation of Thioketal‐Based Biomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thioketal (TK) polymers are promising biomaterials due to their selective biodegradation by reactive oxygen species (ROS), but they respond slowly to physiologic doses of ROS. Here, the TK bond's pendant groups are modified to enhance the degradation of TK‐based implants both in vitro and in vivo.

Continuous High Frequency Measurement Improves Understanding of High Frequency Torsional Oscillation in North America Land Drilling

open access: yes, 2017
Bit and bottom hole assembly (BHA) rotational speed oscillation is often encountered in North America land drilling applications. One common type of rotational speed oscillation is the well-known stick-slip, with speed variation at a frequency that is ...
