High‐frequency resonant‐tunneling oscillators

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1991
AbstractAdvances in high‐frequency resonant‐tunneling‐diode (RTD) oscillators are described. Oscillations up to a frequency of 420 GHz have been achieved in the GaAs/AlAs system. Recent results obtained with In0.53 Ga0.47As/AlAs and InAs/AlSb RTDs show a greatly increased power density and indicate the potential for fundamental oscillations up to about

High-Frequency Oscillations in Schizophrenia

Clinical EEG and Neuroscience, 2011
Neural oscillations and their synchronization may represent a versatile signal to realize flexible communication within and between cortical areas. There is extensive evidence that cognitive functions depending on coordination of distributed neural responses are associated with synchronized oscillatory activity, suggesting a functional mechanism of ...

High frequency chaos oscillators with applications

2007 18th European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design, 2007
Two integrated chaotic oscillators based on negative- gm LC tank circuit are presented. Simulations using Spectre in CADENCE design tools show that one of the proposed circuits generates chaos in the gigahertz frequency region. The applications of the chaotic circuits in random bit generations are also described.

High-frequency network oscillation in the hippocampus

Science, 1992
Pyramidal cells in the CA1 hippocampal region displayed transient network oscillations (200 hertz) during behavioral immobility, consummatory behaviors, and slow-wave sleep. Simultaneous, multisite recordings revealed temporal and spatial coherence of neuronal activity during population oscillations.

High Frequency Oscillation

1996
Controversy exists as to whether limitations in high-frequency oscillation efficiency are caused by the size and shape of the bronchial system, by the lack of low impedant intersegmental gas flow in lung parenchyma, or by inappropriate high-frequency ventilators and ancillary hardware.

High-frequency oscillations in human brain

Hippocampus, 1999
Ripples are 100-200 Hz short-duration oscillatory field potentials that have recently been recorded in rat hippocampus and entorhinal cortex. They reflect fast IPSPs on the soma of pyramidal cells, which occur during synchronous afferent excitation of principal cells and interneuron networks.

A nonpulmonary complication of high-frequency oscillation

Critical Care Medicine, 1986
High-frequency ventilation (HFV) has been suggested as an alternative to standard positive-pressure ventilation with positive end-expiratory pressure (PPV/PEEP) in the treatment of infants with hyaline membrane disease. To assess the relative safety and efficacy of HFV, we compared standard PPV to HFV delivered by oscillation (HFO) and HFV delivered by

High-frequency torsional oscillations—I

International Journal of Engineering Science, 1978
Abstract The Reissner-Sagocci Problem at high-frequencies for an elastic medium with exponentially varying shear modulus and density in the radial direction is asymptotically reduced to a Wiener-Hopf integral equation whose solution is obtained by Carleman's method. Uniform asymptotic results are obtained.

Phase analysis in high-frequency oscillation

Medical Engineering & Physics, 1998
In an oscillating system driven by a sine wave pump, the resonance frequency of the respiratory system can be determined using phase analysis. At resonance frequency, when elastance and inertance cancel out, flow becomes in-phase with resistance. In premature infants with respiratory distress syndrome, owing to surfactant deficiency, localized areas of

High-Frequency Oscillations in Somatosensory System

Clinical EEG and Neuroscience, 2005
The recent revival of interest in high-frequency oscillation (HFO) is triggered by getting an opportunity to noninvasively monitor the timing of highly synchronized and rapidly repeating population spikes generated in the human somatosensory system. HFOs could be recorded from brainstem, cuneothalamic relay neurons, thalamus, thalamocortical radiation,
