Modeling of high-frequency micro-transformers

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2004
A dynamic model has been developed to predict the efficiency of a micro-transformer, operating at 5 MHz. The model includes a core hysteresis model, core eddy current model and winding copper loss model. Measurements and finite element analysis were carried out in order to validate the model.

High-frequency thin-film piezoelectric transformers

2012 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium Proceedings, 2012
A voltage step-up/impedance transformer is presented which operates by modifying the electrode configuration of lateral-extensional mode thin-film piezoelectric-on-substrate (TPoS) resonators. The individual electrode pairs that cover the stress concentration areas of a 10th order harmonic 30MHz resonator are connected in series at the output port to ...

High-Frequency Impedance Transformations

2010
Active devices such as transistors or Op-Amps have bandwidth limitations that can result in instability or undesirable dynamic response in feedback circuits. As gain decreases with frequency, feedback-amplifier port-resistance values also change and effectively become reactive. These bandwidth-related reactances can resonate with other circuit elements.

Calculation of Leakage Inductance for High-Frequency Transformers

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2015
Frequency-dependent leakage inductance is often observed. The high-frequency eddy current effects cause a reduction in leakage inductance. The proximity effect between adjacent layers is responsible for the reduction of leakage inductance. This paper gives a detailed analysis of high-frequency leakage inductance and proposes an accurate prediction ...

High voltage, high frequency conversion transformer

IECEC-97 Proceedings of the Thirty-Second Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference (Cat. No.97CH6203), 2002
A 25 kW, 15 kV output, 50 kHz transformer with 100 kV primary to secondary isolation is described. The transformer will be the central element of a resonant inverter. Six of these resonant inverter outputs will be connected in series to produce 90 kV for an airborne application.

Gabor transform for interictal high frequency oscillations classification

2015 International Conference on Advances in Biomedical Engineering (ICABME), 2015
Interictal High Frequency Oscillations (HFOs [30–600 Hz]) have been recently used as reliable biomarkers for epileptogenic zones. Intra- and inter-subject variations represent the main source of HFOs diversity in terms of spectral and temporal characteristics. According to spectral characteristics, HFOs are usually classified into four sub-bands: gamma,

High-frequency transformers optimized design for power electronic transformers

Applied and Computational Engineering, 2023
Because of its small size, high frequency transformers are widely used to maximize energy transfer. However, the leakage inductance and distributed capacitance of high frequency transformer can not only cause resonance, but also lead to transient changes of voltage and current in high frequency, which can lead to voltage spike, so that the switch tube ...

Hysteresis modelling of high-frequency micro-transformers

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2004
Abstract The application of a hysteresis model to the prediction of the efficiency of a high-frequency micro-transformer, operating at 5 MHz, is described. The core of the micro-transformer consists of electroplated thin films of nickel iron alloy.

High-frequency EMTP model of transformer windings

2006 17th International Zurich Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2006
An EMTP model is presented for calculating overvoltage in transformer windings under VFTO in this paper. Firstly, the voltage transfer functions are calculated from the S parameters which are measured by network analyzer or calculated from the distributed parameters of transformer windings.

High-frequency power transformer modeling

2013
The detailed study of high-frequency over- voltages propagating inside the electrical systems of a power plant requires a precise modeling of power transformers at high frequencies. These over- voltages may originate from lightning overvoltage propagating along the transmission line and crossing the step-up transformer, they may originate also for ...
