Photoactivation of NV Centers in Diamond via Continuous Wave Laser Illumination of Shallow As‐Implanted Nitrogen

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an alternative method of creating charge‐stable negatively charged nitrogen vacancy (NV−) centers close to the diamond surface without high‐temperature annealing. By illuminating nitrogen‐implanted regions with a continuous‐wave 405 nm laser, NV− centers are induced, exhibiting electron spin coherence properties suitable for ...

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

A deep-learning model for one-shot transcranial ultrasound simulation and phase aberration correction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Transcranial ultrasound (TUS) has emerged as a promising tool in clinical and research settings due to its potential to modulate neuronal activity, open the blood-brain barrier, facilitate targeted drug delivery via nanoparticles, and perform thermal ablation, all non-invasively. By delivering focused ultrasound waves to precise regions anywhere in the

Modeling of Microbubble Enhanced High Intensity Focused Ultrasound [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Heat enhancement at the target in a High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) field is investigated by considering the effects of the injection of microbubbles in the vicinity of the tumor to be ablated. The interaction between the bubble cloud and the HIFU field is investigated using a three-dimensional numerical model.

A narrative clinical trials review in the realm of focal therapy for localized prostate cancer [PDF]

open access: yes
Background and objective: The role of focal therapy in the treatment of localized prostate cancer is evolving. However, despite accumulating evidence, current guidelines and regulatory bodies refrain from endorsing focal therapy outside of clinical ...

Advanced Nano‐Fibrillated Cellulose/Modified MXene Janus Membrane for Continuous 24‐h Water‐Power Co‐Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Janus membrane integrates a superhydrophilic CNF@CTAB‐MXene layer with a superhydrophobic PTFE layer, enabling efficient solar‐driven water evaporation and electricity generation. It achieves an evaporation rate of 1.51 kg m−2 h−1 with excellent salt resistance and long‐term stability.
