Lithium conducting solid electrolyte Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 obtained via solution chemistry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
NaSICON-type lithium conductor Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 (LATP) is synthesized with controlled grain size and composition using solution chemistry. After thermal treatment at 850 C, sub-micronic crystallized powders with high purity are obtained.

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Microstructural evolution, fracture behavior and bonding mechanisms study of copper sintering on bare DBC substrate for SiC power electronics packaging

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
Robust bonding of Cu quasi-nanoparticles sintering for Ag coated chip and bare copper substrate was achieved. The effect of temperature, pressure and time on the sintering bonding strength and microstructural evolution was deeply studied.

Strongly connected ex-situ MgB2 polycrystalline bulks fabricated by solid-state self-sintering

open access: yes, 2012
We have investigated the microstructure, normal-state electrical connectivity, and critical current density of ex-situ MgB2 polycrystalline bulks prepared by systematically varying the sintering conditions under low pressure.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Foaming Glass Using High Pressure Sintering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Foam glass is a high added value product which contributes to waste recycling and energy efficiency through heat insulation. The foaming can be initiated by a chemical or physical process. Chemical foaming with aid of a foaming agent is the dominant industrial process. Physical foaming has two variations.

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Influence of high sintering pressure on the microhardness and wear resistance of diamond powder and silicon carbide-based composites

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2004
The work reported on here involved the development of several samples of "diamond-SiC" composite produced under sintering pressures of up to 9.0 GPa at temperatures of up to 1973 7K. The average size of the diamond micropowder crystals used was 40/28 µm.
