Geodynamics of high-speed railway
Transportation Geotechnics, 2018Abstract High-speed railway is one kind of important transportation infrastructures developed in many countries worldwide, and it has significant benefits on both economic development and social progress. The most obvious feature distinguishing the high-speed railway from the conventional railway is its high train operation speed, and this leads to ...

First thoughts In November 1990 about 500 guests assembled for a 3day conference on high-speed railways at the Pulkovo hotel complex at Leningrad. This was the second such conference; the first had been a year earlier and merely set out a few inviting concepts, whereas this second meeting was to hear proposals and discuss plans.

Mechatronic Solutions for High Speed Railway Vehicles
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2000Abstract This paper presents recent developments in the study of active steering for railway wheels. It demonstrates the potential benefits from this form of active control and studies what could be achieved when modern control techniques are used on the vehicles via mechatronic components.

Bowstring bridges for high-speed railway transportation
IABSE Symposium, Antwerp 2003: Structures for High-Speed Railway Transportation, 2003The Italian Railway Transportation Organization (RFI) is presently planning to replace existing traditional steel bridges with bowstring bridges designed according to high-speed requirements. This study is focused on structural types and design rules, with the aim to fulfill the current requirements on fatigue and passenger comfort.

Aerodynamics of high-speed railway train
Progress in Aerospace Sciences, 2002Abstract Railway train aerodynamic problems are closely associated with the flows occurring around train. Much effort to speed up the train system has to date been paid on the improvement of electric motor power rather than understanding the flow around the train. This has led to larger energy losses and performance deterioration of the train system,
