Oxidation induced changes in viscoelastic properties of a thermostable epoxy matrix [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The thermal ageing of a neat epoxy matrix has been studied at 200°C in air by three complementary analytical techniques: optical microscopy, mechanical spectrometry and nano-indentation. Thermal oxidation is restricted in a superficial layer of about 195

Improving the high-temperature oxidation resistance of CrN coating by gradient deposition considering internal stress effects

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2023
In this study, two different CrN coatings were deposited on the surface of Zr-4 via a multi-arc ion-plating method using gradient and non-gradient deposition processes.

The high-temperature oxidation of propane [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1959
Abstract Above 400 °C propane is oxidized by a two-stage degenerately branching chain reaction. The first 20% of reaction proceeds by an HO2/C3H7 radical chain where the main immediate products are propylene and hydrogen peroxide.

Steam oxidation of advanced high temperature resistant alloys for ultra-supercritical applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Steam oxidation of heat exchanger tubing is of growing interest as increasing the efficiencies of conventional pulverised fuel fired power plants requires higher steam temperatures and pressures.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Nanocrystalline coatings on superalloys against high temperature oxidation: A review

open access: yesCorrosion Communications, 2021
To enhance oxidation resistance for industry applications, aluminides and overlaying MCrAlY or intermetallic β-NiAl coatings are the commonly used high temperature protective coatings for superalloys.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

High temperature oxidation resistance of PM superalloys FGH4095 and FGH4096

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2023
In order to study the oxidation corrosion protection of key components of carrier aero engine, the high temperature oxidation behavior of the Ni-based powder metallurgy(PM) superalloys FGH4095 and FGH4096 in air at the temperature range of 750-1100 ℃ was

Effect of surface preparation on the corrosion of austenitic stainless steel 304L in high temperature steam and simulated PWR primary water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The corrosion behavior of 304L grade stainless steel (SS) in high-temperature steam and in a simulated Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) is studied. The goal was to characterize the nature of the oxide coating generated during 500 h exposure of samples in ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
