Long, Highly-Ordered High-Temperature Superconductor Nanowire Arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The preparation and electrical properties of high-temperature superconductor nanowire arrays are reported for the first time. YBa2Cu3O7−δ nanowires with widths as small as 10 nm (much smaller than the magnetic penetration depth) and lengths up to 200 μm ...

Steady-state spherical tokamak power reactor with high-temperature-superconductor

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
A spherical tokamak (ST) with an internal transport barrier (ITB) has the potential to be an ideal fusion power reactor because it not only offers high β performance and blanket replaceability, but also enables self-sustaining operation through a high ...

Magnetization of the joint-free high temperature superconductor (RE)Ba2Cu3Ox coil by field cooling

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
Joint-free (RE)Ba2Cu3Ox (REBCO) coil based on ‘wind-and-flip’ technique has been developed to generate a persistent magnetic field without power supply.

Uniaxial Stress Enhanced Anisotropic Magnetoresistance and Superconductivity in the Kagome Superconductor LaRu3Si2

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We identify strong anisotropy in the upper critical field and magnetoresistance in the kagome superconductor LaRu3Si2, revealing pronounced electronic anisotropy. Uniaxial stress enhances magnetoresistance and Tc, with a positive correlation suggesting an electronic pairing mechanism.

Comparative Analysis of Work Function Measurement Techniques Based on Scanning Probe Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Non‐contact scanning probe microscopy visualizes the surface topography based on surface electronic properties. The tunneling current, which defines the geometry of the tunnel–junction, has to overcome the effective surface work function barrier to reach the probe from the surface.

Magnetic DNA Origami Nanorotors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic actuation is a powerful and broadly applicable actuation mechanism due to its programmability and compatibility with biological entities. Here we demonstrate magnetic DNA origami nanorotors (MADONAs) by assembling magnetic nanocubes on DNA origami.

Chiral Altermagnetic Magnetoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we introduce a previously unexplored class of magnetoelectric materials, which we term chiral altermagnetic magnetoelectrics, in which structural chirality and Néel‐vector‐driven polarization are intrinsically coupled in nonpolar altermagnetic systems.
