RGB generation by four-wave mixing in small-core holey fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We report the generation of white light comprising red, green, and blue spectral bands from a frequency-doubled fiber laser by an efficient four-wave mixing process in submicron-sized cores of microstructured holey fibers.

Cooling-Rate Induced Fiber Birefringence Variation In Regenerated High Birefringent Fiber

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we have reported birefringence manipulation in regenerated high birefringent fiber Bragg grating (RPMG) by using CO2 laser annealing method. The results indicate that the birefringence of RPMG remains unchanged after CO2 laser annealing followed by slow cooling process, but reduced after fast cooling process (~5.6×10-5).

Toward Intelligent Multimodal Holography for Real‐Time Chemical Imaging of Dynamic Ion Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Intelligent multimodal holography integrates digital off‐axis holography, spectroscopic imaging, and AI‐driven reconstruction to visualize ion transport and chemical dynamics in real time. In this perspective paper, we outline how this approach enables label‐free, chemically specific monitoring of complex environments and discuss its potential to ...

High Birefringence Lcs For Color-Sequential Lcds

open access: yes, 2007
High birefringence (0.3\u3cΔn \u3c0.4) and relatively low viscosity liquid crystal mixtures containing isothiocyanato tolane and isothiocyanato terphenyl liquid crystals are developed. The response time of 1.52 ms using a 1.6-μm TN cell is demonstrated. ©

Thermally Stable Organic Synaptic Transistors Using a High‐Tg Polymer Electret

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A high–glass‐transition‐temperature cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) electret enables thermally stable organic synaptic transistors for neuromorphic operation in harsh environments. UV–ozone treatment increases the trap density in COC, providing robust multilevel conductance and key synaptic functions (excitatory postsynaptic current/ inhibitory ...

Tunable holographic second-harmonic generators in high birefringence optical fibres

open access: yes, 1988
The formation of efficient holographic second-harmonic generation in high-birefringence phosphorus-doped germanosilicate fibers is reported. The influence of optical polarisation on the nonlinear writing and read-out processes in explored.
