High-birefringence fiber loop mirrors and their applications as sensors
Applied Optics, 2005The reflection and transmission characteristics of a high-birefringence fiber loop mirror (HiBi-FLM), which is composed of a standard fiber coupler and one-section or multisection high-birefringence fibers (HBFs), are analyzed and discussed in detail.

High focal depth with a quasi-bifocus birefringent lens
Applied Optics, 2000The Strehl definition along the axis of a birefringent lens sandwiched between two polarizers is studied analytically. The optic axis of the birefringent lens made of a uniaxial crystal is perpendicular to the lens axis, and the system behaves like a bifocus lens for proper orientation of the polarizers.

Induced and form birefringence in high-frequency polarization gratings
Applied Optics, 2001High-frequency phase polarization gratings are fabricated holographically in dichromated gelatin dyed with malachite green. It is observed that the intensity of the -1 diffracted beam is a sinusoidal function of the incident polarization angle. In addition, we analyze the dependence of the diffracted order polarization on grating frequency.

High Frequency Enhancement By Birefringent Lens
Journal of Optics, 1980The present paper reports the experimental realisation of the high frequency enhancement technique by utilising a birefringent lens suggested by Chakraborty and Mandal Adhikari (1). It is shown that the subtraction of a focussed and a defocussed image of binary objects reveals their edges.

Zero dispersion with high birefringence photonic crystal fibre
2014 International Conference on Electronics and Communication Systems (ICECS), 2014In this paper we have proposed some new photonic crystal fiber structures whose geometries are derived from the polynomials of Pascal's Triangle (PT). The simulation of the proposed structures are carried out using OptiFDTD simulator with full vector mode solver using finite difference time domain (FDTD).
