Fatigue life of high strength steel for cold forming
The article presents the results of fatigue tests carried out on STRENX-type high-strength cold forming steel. For high-cycle fatigue tests carried out using low cycle loading frequencies of around 30 Hz, a ROTOFLEX machine was used. For ultra high-cycle

Acoustic emission and stage of high-cycle fatigue
From the material echo point of view, talking about high-cycle fatigue, when nondestructive tests of acoustic emissions has been made. Five stages of steel fatigue have been approved and divided agreeably with the shape of individual records.

Cumulative fatigue damage behavior of MAR M-247 [PDF]
The objective was to examine the room temperature fatigue and nonlinear cumulative fatigue damage behavior of the cast nickel-based superalloy, MAR M-247. The fatigue test matrix consisted of single-level, fully reversed fatigue experiments.

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

TS SPECIMEN LIFE PREDICTION OF HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL RESISTANCE SPOT WELDS
The plastic zone in crack tip influences life prediction result when using crack propagation method to predict fatigue life of spot welds. Most of the methods used to predict fatigue life don’t take plasticity into consideration.

Effect of welding defects on fatigue behavior of Ni-base superalloy GH4065A
The spot-welding defects of highly alloyed Ni-base superalloy GH4065A were investigated by using SEM and EBSD analysis methods. Effects of the welding defects on fatigue life and fracture behavior were studied by comparing thin plate samples with a ...

The effects of multiple repairs on Inconel 718 weld mechanical properties [PDF]
Inconel 718 weldments were repaired 3, 6, 9, and 13 times using the gas tungsten arc welding process. The welded panels were machined into mechanical test specimens, postweld heat treated, and nondestructively tested.

Effect of sandblasting on low and high-cycle fatigue behaviour after mechanical cutting of a twinning-induced plasticity steel [PDF]
In the last years, car bodies are increasingly made with new advanced high-strength steels, for both lightweighting and safety purposes. Among these new steels, high-manganese or TWIP steels exhibit a promising combination of strength and toughness ...

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...
