Measuring High Dynamic Range Spectral Reflectance of Artworks through an Image Capture Matrix Hyperspectral Camera

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Commercial hyperspectral imaging systems typically use CCD or CMOS sensors. These types of sensors have a limited dynamic range and non-linear response. This means that when evaluating an artwork under uncontrolled lighting conditions and with light and ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

High dynamic range video by spatially non-regular optical filtering

open access: yes, 2022
S.2757-2760We present a new method for capturing high dynamic range video (HDRV). Our method is based on spatially varying exposures, where individual pixels are covered with filters for different optical attenuation.

Deep high dynamic range imaging of dynamic scenes [PDF]

open access: yesACM Transactions on Graphics, 2017
Producing a high dynamic range (HDR) image from a set of images with different exposures is a challenging process for dynamic scenes. A category of existing techniques first register the input images to a reference image and then merge the aligned images into an HDR image.

A Novel Solution for Reconstructing More Details High Dynamic Range Image

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Although scholars have made significant progress in obtaining high dynamic range (HDR) images by using deep learning algorithms to fuse multiple exposure images, there are still challenges, such as image artifacts and distortion in high-brightness and ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
