IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, 2012
The compression capability of several generations of video coding standards is compared by means of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and subjective testing results. A unified approach is applied to the analysis of designs, including H.262/MPEG-2 Video, H.263, MPEG-4 Visual, H.264/MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (AVC), and High Efficiency Video Coding ...

Fast Intra Mode Decision for High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC)
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, 2014The latest High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard only requires 50% bit-rate of the H.264/AVC at the same perceptual quality, but with a significant encoder complexity increase. Hence, it is necessary and inevitable to develop fast HEVC encoding algorithms for its potential market adoption. In this paper, we propose a fast intra mode decision for

High Efficiency Video Coding(HEVC)
2013HEVC the latest standard is presented. Comparison with H.264/AVC ( Chap. 4) is cited. The focus is on overview of HEVC rather than a detailed description of tools and techniques that constitute the encoder. A plethora of projects listed at the end challenges the implementation and futher research related to HEVC.

Recent developments in standardization of high efficiency video coding (HEVC)
SPIE Proceedings, 2010This paper reports on recent developments in video coding standardization, particularly focusing on the Call for Proposals (CfP) on video coding technology made jointly in January 2010 by ITU-T VCEG and ISO/IEC MPEG and the April 2010 responses to that Call.

Scalable video coding based on high efficiency video coding (HEVC)
Proceedings of 2011 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and Signal Processing, 2011In this paper, we propose two structures for scalable video coding (SVC) based on HEVC. Several inter-layer prediction mechanisms are introduced to improve coding efficiency of the proposed HEVC-based SVC. The proposed inter-layer predictions are developed on single-loop and multi-loop decoding structures.

Fast Intra Coding Implementation for High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC)
2017 Data Compression Conference (DCC), 2017In High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), a quad-tree based Coding Unit (CU) partitioning scheme is employed, achieving a substantial improvement in coding efficiency compared with previous standards. The superior coding efficiency of HEVC is achieved at the expense of greatly increased complexity.

Core Transform Design in the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) Standard
IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing, 2013This paper describes the core transforms specified for the high efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard. Core transform matrices of various sizes from 4 × 4 to 32 × 32 were designed as finite precision approximations to the discrete cosine transform (DCT).

Review for High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC)
2014 IEEE Conference on Systems, Process and Control (ICSPC 2014), 2014A new standard of video compressing has been developed by ISO and ITU-T and this standard is known as High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) or H.265. In January 2013, HEVC has received the first approval. By comparison with the predecessors coding standers, HEVC doubles the compression ratio of data with maintains the quality level of video.

Angular intra prediction in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC)
2011 IEEE 13th International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing, 2011New video coding solutions, such as the HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) standard being developed by JCT-VC (Joint Collaborative Team on Video Coding), are typically designed for high resolution video content. Increasing video resolution creates two basic requirements for practical video codecs; those need to be able to provide compression ...

A context-adaptive fast intra coding algorithm of high-efficiency video coding (HEVC)
Journal of Real-Time Image Processing, 2016This paper proposes a context-adaptive fast intra coding algorithm of high efficiency video coding (HEVC). Intra coding of HEVC improves the coding efficiency of intra coded picture with an exhaustive computation and evaluation. In this paper, the proposed algorithm consists of an adaptive rough mode selection to decrease the prediction modes for rough
