Investigating the role of mutual information in the Page curve for a functional renormalization group improved Schwarzschild black hole

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
The present work delves into probing the importance of mutual information of relevant subsystems in obtaining the correct time-evolution of fine-grained entropy of Hawking radiation, as suggested by Page.

TA Spectrum [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
The Telescope Array (TA) experiment is measuring cosmic rays of energies from PeV to 100 EeV and higher in the Northern hemisphere. TA has two parts: main TA and the TA low energy extension (TALE).

Observation of extragalactic sources of very high energy gamma-rays with the MAGIC telescope

open access: yes, 2007
MAGIC is currently the largest single dish ground-based imaging air Cherenkov telescope in operation. During its first cycle of observations more than 20 extragalactic objects have been observed, and very high energy gamma-ray signals have been detected ...

Impact of Uncertain Parameters on Navier–Stokes Equations With Heat Transfer via Polynomial Chaos Expansion

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This study investigates the impact of uncertain parameters on Navier–Stokes equations coupled with heat transfer using the Intrusive Polynomial Chaos Method (IPCM). Sensitivity equations are formulated for key input parameters, such as viscosity and thermal diffusivity, and solved numerically using the Finite Element‐Volume method.

New Timing Results of MSPs from NICER Observations

open access: yesUniverse
Millisecond pulsars (MSPs) are known for their long-term stability. Using six years of observations from the Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER), we have conducted an in-depth analysis of the X-ray timing results for six MSPs: PSRs B1937 ...

Large Deformation Pile‐soil Interaction Under Lateral Vehicle Impact Using Hybrid SPH+FEM and EFG+FEM Models

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents large deformation computational methods to simulate lateral vehicular impacts on steel piles in granular soil. Soil‐mounted longitudinal barrier systems rely on energy dissipation in both the piles and the surrounding soil to safely redirect errant vehicles, so dynamic pile‐soil interaction is important for design ...
