Soft X‐Ray Imaging of Dense and Fast Magnetosheath Jets: Numerical Simulations

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract The goal of this paper is to estimate the soft X‐ray signature associated with dense and fast magnetosheath jets streaming toward the dayside magnetosphere. We developed a non‐self‐consistent kinematic approach for simulating numerically the transport of high‐speed plasma jets in the magnetosheath.

What Controls Finger‐Shaped Transformation Patterns? A Numerical Approach to Eclogitization

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Metamorphic transformations in subduction lithosphere are triggered by pressure and temperature changes occurring under stress. This anisotropic stress field can in turn be locally altered by the transformation pattern, as reactions induce significant changes of the material properties of the rocks.

Hydrothermal Circulation During Continental Breakup: Evolution of a Subseafloor Stockwork Mineralization at the South China Sea Rifted Margin

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Hydrothermal activity during continental breakup and early oceanic spreading is poorly understood due to limited samples. A basalt‐hosted hydrothermal mineralization, drilled during IODP Expedition 367/368 at the northern South China Sea at the continent‐ocean transition provides a unique opportunity to investigate this phenomenon.

Emergent Feedbacks Between Progressive Serpentinization, Interface Weakening, and Subduction Rates

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract During subduction, the downgoing oceanic crust is exposed to high temperatures in the mantle wedge, causing volatile‐bearing minerals to break down and release hydrous fluids into the forearc. These fluids percolate upwards, reacting with the mantle wedge to form hydrated ultramafic lithologies, including serpentinite.
